QB Tathan Martell (transfer to Miami, transfer to UNLV)

Bummer. Was hoping to watch him this year. He was never a guy who was going to look as good in practice as some other guys. Or maybe he just isn't that good.

What I saw of him in the red zone O last year when we were struggling to run the ball didn’t impress. Not a knock, but a fair assessment (in my mind). He looked like the game was coming at him too fast and what he was able to do in HS didn’t translate to P5 football.

Hope the best for him, but I do think that his future is slot receiver.

Feel bad for Tate. Last year this time, he was "the future" at QB for tOSU. Then he finds out one of the highest-rated QB prospects ever is transferring in, has to scramble to find a new landing spot, picks a school, and gets beat out there. Now he's looking at being the QB2 or QB3 for a school that will probably be mid-pack in the ACC. Probably a lot of reflection going on right now.
Could see him going home to UNLV here and making a career out of what he can.....was a sophomore there in Tony Sanchez's last year and his career is dangling on a line. Could buy him another year and buy Tate his chance at QB.
Which is what he should've done to start with if he was transfering out
He made a very bad decision in transfer destinations that was very obviously a bad decision from the outset.

I went back to find some quotes proving that it was an obviously bad decision from the outset, and unfortunately for BN27 the first thing I found was this.

So with apologies for the “call out,” here is a nice summation of the questioning of the decision.
People are in here saying he's not even going to win the job at Miami and saying he should've gone to an even lesser school because he can't throw.

I don't feel bad for him at all. Him talking about competition and puffing his chest out trying to intimidate Fields only to turn tail before Justin even stepped on campus was comical. Him being relegated to 3rd String after transferring is just karma.

I think that’s fair. I certainly agree with most of your feeling regarding how he behaved. Now that he’s gone, I suspect my feelings have mellowed and he is, after all, just a kid.

That said, I do think that the Karma goes back much further than his arrival in 43210. Look no further than QB1 for evidence. I would suggest some of what we saw there was likely foreshadowing.
