QB Tathan Martell (transfer to Miami, transfer to UNLV)

I think that’s fair. I certainly agree with most of your feeling regarding how he behaved. Now that he’s gone, I suspect my feelings have mellowed and he is, after all, just a kid.

That said, I do think that the Karma goes back much further than his arrival in 43210. Look no further than QB1 for evidence. I would suggest some of what we saw there was likely foreshadowing.
I just loathe false bravado. It's one thing if you talk shit and can back it up. Hell it's another if you talk shit, try to back it up, but ultimately fail giving it your all. It's another thing entirely to talk shit and then turn tail at the slightest hint of trouble. The latter is what irritates me the most.

Tate went 10-10 and set a new Ohio State record for highest completion percentage for a quarterback with 10 or more attempts. Tate's record will never be beaten. That's how I'll remember him.
He at least had 2 years in our offense and while I think Fields would've won the job anyways I'm still shocked he landed on Miami as a spot. Learning a whole new offense in 6 months and competing against a kid like Williams who is pretty good was just dumb.

I think he had better odds staying put here honestly...

Just shocked he went to Miami anyways....

I mean if I was him I'd have picked a low level D1 school. FAU, South Florida, UNLV, Houston, Rutgers, Vandy, or Texas Tech... schools like that.

He should've known Williams had really good talent and now here he is.

FSU with Kendall Briles was the move.

But he seems to make awful decisions. Miami was a poor system fit and not a lock to start.

Briles turned a WR into one of the most efficient passers in the country last year.

Sometimes you have to wonder who helps these kids make career decisions.

Seems to me he probably doesn't listen to anybody but himself. The bs he pulled today just makes me kind of worry about his mental health and if we will even see him play anywhere else.

Didn't Martell recently say that he was basically shown the door shortly after the Rose Bowl?

The loser of Burrows vs Haskins will leave. That's just how it will play out. Both are good enough to start at many other schools.
Martell might not stick around either. He has a history of being impatient with waiting his turn. And who could blame him?
Jones could de-commit. Teams will be recruiting him up until he signs.
The point is a lot could and will change.

If and it's a big "IF" he would have stuck around maybe Day/Yuercich could have worked with him to make a him a better QB.
But he bailed.
I agree... his best shot at a big time school was here. He knew the system which could've given him the edge.

Oh well though. Hopefully he can go to a 1AA to play but at this point it's pretty late in camp for that
