QB Tathan Martell (transfer to Miami, transfer to UNLV)

He couldn't get playing time with the shit show Miami had at QB last year. Maybe the talent is there, but the commitment isn't. I don't know what the issue is, but Tate has not come anywhere close to realizing the hype that preceded him, which makes him, by definition, overrated.
He gets better poon than any three of us, though.

I have to call him a winner.

Holds the Ohio State record for "most completed passes in row in a game". Day could have worked with him enough to be a player at QB but Tate lacked the dedication to the "process" to become a starter. "Work ethic".

Just to be clear, the record is for most completions without an incompletion or an interception. He went 10 for 10 against Rutgers,

JT Barrett had 16 straight completions in the comeback against Penn State in Columbus.

QB Tate Martell intends to return to Miami after opting out

Quarterback Tate Martell was one of four Hurricanes who opted out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Martell intends to return to Miami when the spring semester begins on Jan. 25 according to a source.

Certainly the staff will have to welcome Martell back and discussions will have to be had with him in order for him to rejoin team activities given how he has not been around the team in months after serving a suspension to start the 2020 season and being away from the team at times in 2019 due to personal reasons.

If he does rejoin the team, Martell would be one of three, possibly four, quarterbacks to participate in spring practices along with freshman Tyler Van Dyke, redshirt freshman Peyton Matocha, and recent signee Jake Garcia, if he enrolls early, while D'Eriq King will be out recovering from a torn ACL.
