QB Tathan Martell (transfer to Miami, transfer to UNLV)

If you have a heart condition I wouldn't recommend following this recruitment...

Meh. We still have Danny. Even if he didnt blow up to crazy expectations, we're solid here. I'm elated with Haskins and Burrow as well.
And then there's the recruitment of Mond and more studs next year.
Do we take first hard verbal or ride this out til February?
The future is bright.

I mentioned in another thread that with OSU making up ground on Pitt and ND for Jurkovec and now the offer to Jones I would be inclined to pass on another QB in '17. I really like the two '18 options better than any of the m'17 options I've seen so far.

The 2018 options are looking mores dive but 2018 is so far away that I couldnt rely on being in the lead now to hold and we could wind up with a 4 year backup. I like the idea of going out for a top guy this year. If we don't get them then not a huge deal. We have Danny and even though he has cooled some he still has the intangibles and potential.

Working on setting up another visit with family to Columbus in June & will take an official visit to tOSU in the fall.

Scout's Greg Biggins also believes Ohio State is out in front of the pack as well...

Am i the only one wondering what some (really all) of those programs are doing up there? Though I guess Cal did just ship off a #1 overall draft pick.
But especially CU and WVU. If not for the latter, maybe outstanding Academics is really important?

CU - Close to home.
USC - Speaks for itself.
UCLA - See above.
Cal - He committed to A&M because of Coach Spavital, who is now here.
WVU - Style of offense.

CU isnt close at all and a perennial dumpster fire. It's firmly beyond driving distance.
USC not what it used to be
UCLA never was
Cal - as mediocre as their program is, I can see coach connection and having just got Goff a lot of money
WVU ummm ok?

The thing is except WVU these are all outstanding schools academically. The other 4 a notch above us even. And the 3 Cali schools are drivable... esp socal.
