This getting absolutely absurd. A kid was excited to see battle it out with Fields is now running. I don't blame him for being upset and feeling like he may have gotten recruited over but the up and down with him is hard to follow. The I have been running with the team and I'm not afraid and I am not going anywhere and I am going to stay and fight to......I'm out. I don't know if Day told him, you're not my guy and they wanted someone like Baldwin or Fields and Tate can transfer, then I would understand. Without knowing that, he is coming off like a spoiled brat who is used to getting his way and now that it is not handed to him he is pouting. He is like the kid who doesn't get his way so he is going to take his toys and go home. Whatever happens, I wish him nothing but the best and hope he has an amazing life, whether it is at tOSU or somewhere else....not TTUN though.

Just to circle back on this point. Everyone is focusing on Fields impact on Tate, and to be sure he is the front runner. But Baldwin is going to be a factor as well.



And, interestingly, he has been a total opposite to Tate in his high school experience and his experience at tOSU. He had to wait to play until his senior year, had a very low key recruitment and has stayed out of the spotlight for his Buckeye career.

I hope he doesn't go to Auburn. Malzahn mishandles players all of the time. Tate should eliminate Auburn right now from any possible consideration. Just look at how the RBs at Auburn have been mismanaged from 5 Star Roc Thomas eventually transferring to Jacksonville State to Asa Martin having his redshirt burned because the OC at Auburn couldn't count to 4 games. I am sure there are other examples but those are the ones that I remember off the top of my head. If you want view how of a clusterduck Auburn is look no further than the hisorty of their RBS under Malzahn.

This is interesting though, Martin transferred to Miami.

Asa Martin quickly found a new landing spot.

Just 11 days after announcing his decision to transfer from Auburn after one season, Martin signed with Miami on Wednesday during the early signing period. Martin will have three years of eligibility remaining with the Hurricanes.

Reading the tea leaves I bet Martell winds up a Cane. Just make sure he knows what Jalen Hurts is doing first before making a decision so as to not lose another year.

I just like the term "entered the portal".

Feels like Martell has entered some kind of Matrix or Delorean situation. So many questions about this portal short of Tate. And can it be used to go back to 10/20/18? Can someone look into that, please?

Going back to the topic at hand...

Transfers are going to increase . Especially if wavers increase. Recruiting tactics may have to change. Commitment is a two way street , flips happen but it’s a two way street. “You’re our guy” then recruit another “you’re our guy”. Transfers are going to happen. It’s not the past when Woody would tell recruits,you have to come in and compete. Assurances are given and expected, especially the elite recruits.

A lot of this. Especially at the QB position.

We've entered a new era where QB's are coming to campus, ready to play immediately. Which a bit counter-intuitive because the QB position normally needs development. But you saw it this year with Trevor Lawrence, and last year with Tua.

These guys are getting so much coaching, and especially 7 on 7 work, that come into college with way more experience than guys in the past have. They've seen just about every coverage imaginable, and the only thing that changes is the guys blocking in front of them. These stud true freshman QB's aren't coming to campus to sit and learn. They're coming to win titles right off the bat. Fields included.
