Question about stitches

Discussion in 'Open Discussion (Work-safe)' started by wolfamngstsheep, Feb 25, 2005.

  1. How long are you supposed to leave stitches in? I will have mine in for 7 days, is that too long, should I try to reschedule my appointment?

I don't see how it would hurt to leave them in, just as long as you don't take 'em out too early

Depends what type...some don't even need to be taken out (they disolve)...

Didn't they set a time for you to come in and have them removed when they stitched you up...???

Take em out yourself man...especially after 7 days.

Why waste the $$ at the Dr's office?

Tweezers to pull, and scissors to cut

I suggest taking them out while you play hockey.

It's actually Roller Derby but not too many people are familiar with it.

Yup, thats exactly what I did two years ago when I sliced my finger open.

  15. I'm not going to take them out because the stitches are on my cheek.

How do I care for the stitches, should I leave a band aid on at all times or what?
