RB Carlos "El Guapo" Hyde (Official Thread)

I am going to start a comparison of Ohio State running backs, sourced from Wikipedia and http://www.elevenwarriors.com/2012/11/16799/five-things-michigan#more

Carlos sure scores a lot of TDs and if hs YPC nudges up, he will match or exceed the greatest.

PLAYER YEAR YPC YPG TD YARDS
Carlos Hyde 2012 5.2 96 17 970
Archie Griffin 1974 6.6 12 1695
Archie Griffin 1975 5.5 4 1455
Archie Griffin 1973 6.4 7 1577
Archie Griffin 1972 5.5 3 867
Eddie George career 5.5
Beanie Wells 2008 5.8 8 1197
Beanie Wells 2007 5.9 15 1609

Had to chuckle when I looked at Archie's TD totals, anyone remember Pete Johnson?

per internet buzz, hyde submitted to see where he would fall for nfl draft. doesn't necessarily mean anything, but thinking about it, he might actually have less touches next year with hall back and a stable behind him.

I really doubt that. From what I've seen, Carlos, Rod Smith and maybe even Brionte are better tail backs than Hall. I think Hall is involved in the passing game as much as the running game when he gets back.

you just listed two other running backs, proving my point hahaha. i think smith and dunn are going to get more touches (they have to), and warren ball too maybe.

No he didn't. Barring some miracle Hyde will be the feature back again next year and will get the bulk of the carries if he comes back. He's earned that.

Typical comment on here. I can't wait for the (insert name) next great whatever. Be content with what you have. The guy is pretty damned good at what he does. I'd love to see him in the scarlet and gray for another year.
