RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

As good as he is... if we are lucky enough to land both Maurice and Jason on Saturday at the AAA game, should Chris Wells red-shirt if he comes to tOSU?

The way I see it... either Maurice or Gwaltney will start as Freshmen. The other will get sufficient carries (Jason gets goallines, late in the game, up the gut carries... while Maurice gets the touches in the passing game, down the field and the bouncing-it-outside carries). Both will get many carries and one will probably be good enough to leave early and be a high pick (hell, maybe both could leave early like White/Bush may together), thus giving the other free reign over the offense their SR year.

Anyways, as one of them is a SR, Chris Wells steps in as a RS Soph and gets a good amnt of carries for himself. That will give him both his JR and SR to run over the competition. Even if neither leaves early, Chris will still have 2 years as our feature back in the offense. Kind of complicated, but does anybody see it happening? Do you guys know what I'm saying?

I don't think Erik Haw and Antonio Pittman see it happening that way. I'm not so sure Gwaltney does either, seeing as how he's probably on the other side of the continent.
That is why I said: "if we are lucky enough to land both Maurice and Jason on Saturday at the AAA game"

And if not, well, then Haw and Pittman I am sure will step up. But I guess we will have to see how everything works after NLOID.

Akron (Ohio) Garfield tailback Chris Wells will be one of the top running back prospects in the country when major college programs begin to turn their attention to the 2005-06 recruiting season. Nicknamed "Beanie" and measuring 6-1 and 217 pounds, Wells is a blend of power and speed as he has piled up the yardage for the Golden Rams the past two years. In 2004, he was one of only four juniors in Ohio to rush for 1,700 yards or more. Check out his video right here.

Going to go watch these and I will post my thoughts if anyone else has anything to add post here.

Impressive videos! He has good speed (never got caught from behind), decent acceleration, doesn't go down easy at all. He has some good moves including a great side step (very nice lateral movement) and a nice stiff arm. He's a very strong, north and south runner, but with enogh burst to get around the edge if need be. Good vision as well. I am impressed especially since I was expecting to see a much stiffer runner since there has been talk about LB. Looks like a great one at RB to me.
