RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

nice quote from his mom :)

When I asked her if there was one college she wanted Chris to select, she was quite adamant in her choice.

"I want him to go to Ohio State. It would be a lot closer to travel to see him, but I'm really not sure what he's going to do. I feel that Ohio kids should go to school in Ohio, not leave the state."

:oh: :io:

Opinion influencers...

Numerous Garfield associates have direct tOSU ties... Butch Reynolds (OSU grad/world record holder) is said to have a big influence on improving Wells running skills... and at least one other individual who sent his boy to OSU helps with the WRs... couple those with Antoine Winfield... and we HAVE to be the leader...

hoban/garfield game

Butch Reynolds went to hoban and ohio state. He trains chris wells and alot of other kids in this area for his summer track team . He's a positive for osu when it comes to wells. He will be a buckeye down the road. I see wells being told by all those colleges he could try either rb or lb but, lb would be his best right now. Some of his friends say scum is talking to him about fb/lb so I would take that as a plus for us

I went to that game on thursday and I came away a little surprised about chris wells as a rb for ohio state or scum.

I watched it with a few past college players and they all kept saying LB will be his college position not rb and I seem to agree but, he is only a junior so he might turn out to be a rb with more experience. He has legit speed so a lb with 4.45 40 speed would be a weapon for the buckeyes. I know all the buckeyes lb'ers are suppose to be fast and all these so called 4.5 or 4.6 40 times might be true but, he showed his true speed in track by winning a few races with 11 and 10.9 100 meters time.

the way I saw it,
He was very fast and runs very hard but, did not get a chance to break out,, he did try to juke a few times and looked really good at that by causing some misses but, he was just out numbered to many times to stand out. It kind of reminded me of lydell ross for the buckeyes last year. Hoban had almost every player at the top of line to make sure the running did not beat them and garfield did not change anything to mess up hobans defensive calls . Marcus Council looked really good and should get a chance to play safety somewhere top.
Suttons gains per carry looked easy behind that hoban o-line and glazer has to be bigger than his 6.8 320 size. He wiped out 2 to 3 players on every play but, wells and coucil kinda kept sutton in check when it counted, they got blocked by a few hoban players on every play to keep suttons going but, they had to fight through them to keep suttons from getting another touchdown. I thought he was going to score four tds himself. He had alot of big gains but, to be held to 13 points really was a great defensive game. garfield got stopped with a 4th and 1 on hobans one yard line. garfield should have won that game. If that suttons was a little bigger he would be scary. He reminds me of past buckeye wiley

garfield won at st.vincent and st. mary 38-28

wells, 177 yards
council, 162 yards

I went to garfield /green game and garfield won with a few great plays by wells but, he only played about 1/4 the game but, when he played you could see he could be a great one.

In the 4th quarter
He had a 90 yard kick of return for the winning touchdown and right after that green gets down to the rams 15 yard line and greens QB whose being recruited pretty good looked like he threw another great past in the middle of the endzone to get it batted away from wells. He looked like superman to come across the field to get to deflect the football .

Wells could be a freak of nature but, the reason he does not have huge numbers every game is because, he has cramps all the time in practice and games. They have him drink water and stretch out all the time but, it still happens. I hope he gets it out of system by time he's a buckeye.

Butch reynolds past buckeye /olympic star who talks to Wells all the time and his mom absolutely love Tressel and OHIO STATE. :)

looks like more of a linebacker than a tailback to me. didn't seem to be the natural tailback, i don't know if it was the instincts or a bad game or a good defense or what but i thought linebacker despite something like 120 yards when i saw him.

delbert ferguson seemed like a better tailback junior year compared to junior year.

Garfield 21, West Geauga 10
Junior running back Chris Wells scored all three touchdowns for Garfield to lead the Golden Rams (3-1) past host West Geauga (1-3). Wells took the second-half kickoff 64 yards to set up the Rams' second touchdown. He finished with 125 yards on 29 carries.

garfield 35, north 0

wells had 24 carries for 195 yards
2 tds and one was 73 yarder

"wells wants the ball. He will punish you on the sidelines and bruise you on the line" garfield bob sax said that in the bj

just my thoughts,

all the times, I 've seen him play when ,he's healthy he is, a step ahead of anyone on the field with his speed .
He reminds of a bo jackson/herschel walker/lavar arrington type player with his true speed and 6 '2 220 size so , as he matures he can only get better.

His best track time in the 100 meters was 10. 8 so he does have true speed and looks faster in the middle of a game showing he has the legs to carry the pads/weight very easily and his legs are huge.

I think osu offered him because, of his natural talents that can be trained to be a star . You have to be born like that

A faster clarett would be like having oklahoma's
a. peterson on the buckeyes team in a couple years .:)
