RB/WR Curtis Samuel (Washington Commanders)

Meanwhile, a source close to Samuel shot down a report that said Samuel, a rising senior, had been considering Florida until Meyer allegedly ?turned in? Florida and White.

Erasmus Hall coach Danny Landberg said he didn?t know anything about the reports and that Samuel never seriously considered Florida as a final destination. Samuel sliced down his list of schools in May, and he told the Daily News at the time that Florida didn?t make the cut. The schools that are still in the running remain Alabama, Notre Dame, Miami, Rutgers, and Ohio State.

?I don?t think Florida was ever in his top five,? Landberg said Wednesday. ?I don?t know anything about [the reports]. We know nothing about Florida being in the mix where they're reported to be in the way of Ohio State. They were never a big name for Curtis and that?s it.?

Samuel is scheduled to take an unofficial visit to Ohio State at the end of the month, according to Landberg, who said that he hasn?t spoken to Meyer about the reports. Rutgers is the only school that Samuel has visited so far and that was an unofficial visit.

With him keeping his recruitment so quiet, it'd be great to see him commit at FNL, but I know realistically this is going until NSD, or an all star game at the very least

Gut feeling he ends it before next Monday.

I hope you are right, but I don't think he has made too many unofficial visits. So he may be pretty intent on taking some officials so he can actually get out and see more schools on his list. I would bet he sticks to his timeline with a winter commit.

The one thing that may work in favor of him speeding up his timeline though is that spots are getting tight. Myles Autry is reportedly visiting for FNL also and I can't see there being spots for both guys.

Imo, Samuel is now much higher on the staffs list of importance than autry now. Autry won't be getting the same vip treatment that guys like samuel, brown and mcmillan will
