RB Daniel "Boom" Herron (Official Thread)

He's destroying that blocker on the punt team. He blew him up into the punter on the blocked punt and just now steam rolled him again. Only thing left is to get some carries on offense with Pressley officially out for the game (knee injury).

Boom in on offense now in the red zone!!!!!

Come on Bungles block for him here.

2nd and 10 and they fake it to him and run a reverse for minus one yard. Booooooooo

Alright! Pitch to him, ZERO blocking, he breaks the tackle in the backfield and gains 6 yards. Very nice. Give it to him again!!!!

Awesome to see Boom do so well! He is really taking his opportunity and earning his spot. He also had a nasty peel back block on a punt return (it got a penalty since the NFL is flag football now). I would love to see him get some more carries next week.

Running Back The Draft Board

BenJarvus Green-Ellis, had his second 1,000-plus yard season in three years, but averaged only 3.9 yards per carry. His workload picked up considerably last year with 300 touches (278 carries and 22 receptions). Behind him are nothing but question marks. Bernard Scott and Brian Leonard are unrestricted free agents and Cedric Peerman is a restricted free agent. The Bengals selected Dan 'Boom' Herron in the sixth round last year, but the Bengals will eye a running back early in the draft.

When coach Marvin Lewis talked about former Ohio State running back Daniel Herron at the NFL combine, he gave the impression that Herron could be a factor for the Cincinnati Bengals next season. BenJarvus Green-Ellis gained a career high in yards last season, but the Bengals have struggled finding a dependable second back. Bernard Scott and Brian Leonard are unrestricted free agents. Cedric Peerman, who showed a little outside speed in November, suffered an ankle injury in December that limited him the rest of the way. Peerman is a restricted free agent.

?I thought Danny ? worked his tail off throughout the year, so to bring him up and give him an opportunity was a great thing,? Lewis said. ?I really think that getting himself in shape and preparing to be a guy in the NFL, I think, he showed on special teams. ? Then he got an opportunity, and that?s step No. 2 on offense. We look for him to have a big preseason.?
