RB/WR/DB Demario McCall (Official Thread)

McCall Talks Record Setting Night, Recruiting
McCall called Ohio State running backs coach Stan Drayton on Thursday night.

“They talk about me playing everywhere,” McCall said. “Wide receiver, slot, tailback, but not really cornerback. I don’t really like defense as much.

“Ohio State is high on my list. And I like Auburn and Florida State too. I want to get to an Auburn game.”

McCall plans to attend the Ohio State at Michigan State game on Nov. 8 and the Michigan at Ohio State game on Nov. 29.

11W--DeMario McCall talks MSU Visit

Great read as usual from 11W

Really great read and we would use maximize his talents in this offense...pretty sure he got to see that Sunday. He is not going to split wide like Lippett or run behind a fullback like Langford. Honestly, I see us utilizing him exactly like Dontre (who his film is very reminiscent of, except Dontre faced better competition in HS)...start him off at RB and explore options with him at receiver. I think there is no way he goes to defense, gotta get the ball in this kid's hands.

At his listed current size of 5'11' 170lb, why is it not seen possible that he could get up to 200ish and play RB? Hell be part of a committee anyway so he won't be asked to carry the ball like a workhorse, imo. Urban found success with much smaller RBs at UF. He and Samuel would do a lot of damage

Walker Won’t Keep McCall From Being A Buckeye
Where McCall stands hasn’t changed a bit. The Buckeyes are as interested as ever and McCall’s interest in Ohio State is as strong as ever.

The Buckeyes have talked to McCall about playing running back, in the slot and wide receiver, and the talented athlete doesn’t see himself as just a running back at the next level.

“I like being all over the place,” McCall said. “There is no team that is going to keep me in just one spot. That wouldn’t be smart.”

McCall talked to Ohio State running backs coach Stan Drayton again the day after the Buckeyes won the National Championship, and he will visit Ohio State again for the Buckeyes junior day on Jan. 25.

McCall of course watched the Buckeyes win it all.

“Ohio State and Oregon are still my two favorites,” McCall said. “I was sitting back at first. I wasn’t rooting for either team. Then I said let’s go O-State. Let’s pull this out.”
