RB Ezekiel Elliott (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All Pro, New England Patriots)

Darth Goodell strikes again.

There is ZERO consistency in the punishment the league hands out, and that's the biggest issue. It's like they have no self awareness.

Look, it sounds like Zeke is no angel, but six games without a conviction? Absurd.

Goodell and his lackeys are ruining the NFL just like that Hobbit David Stern did the NBA.
six games without a charge.

I don't agree with it, but I'm not surprised.

The domestic violence accusations are flimsy at best, or so it seems and had that been all there was, Zeke might've gotten a slap on the wrist - if that. However, when you add in the St. Patty's Day incident, the shopping at a head shop, the fight at the club.....none of which are a big deal on their own; but combined with the DV accusations, it becomes a pretty alarming trend that the NFL is going to consider needs to be addressed.

Ridiculous move by the NFL. I hope he sues the NFL and wins big....

Judge, jury and executioner.

I'm guessing that can't happen under the collective bargaining agreement the NFLPA agreed to.

Giving Goodell all the power was a huge mistake and will be the biggest stumbling block in the negotiations the next time around and the reason why I'm convinced there will be a work stoppage because of it.

Yeah, he will likely win the appeal or have it dropped to a couple/three games after arbitration, but you have to imagine that, had be been squeaky clean since this came out, that this would have been a more lenient punishment.

Oh, I don't disagree that some league-intervention is/was probably needed, Zeke has been in the news for the wrong reasons too many times, and needs to grow up and learn some responsibility. However, six games when he has ZERO charges or convictions against him is awfully heavy handed, especially considering some of the other punishments doled out to guys with actual convictions/charges.

The easy fix is to develop some kind of concrete disciplinary baseline that can be briefed to all players/personnel executives. Any company worth a damn has one. Just firing off suspensions willy-nilly based on what seems to be little more than the league office's mood/opinion of the person is reckless and counter-productive. For a billion-dollar entity, the NFL really just does not have its shit together at all.

Out of curiosity does this bring about any other potential ramifications for Zeke? For example could CPD be compelled to reopen their investigation based on this "expert evidence" from the NFL's investigation. It would seem this lends itself to a personal lawsuit by Zeke's accuser.
