In some fairness to the NFL, I am familiar with someone at work who was terminated for one real flimsy reason, but in which there was quite a bit of dirt on other things that weren't mentioned. He got his job back with a demotion, but the other stuff was never "official." Could be what we are seeing here. The NFL looks tough on domestic abuse and doesn't have to publicly embarrass Zeke with other things. I don't know.

The NFL is a company and their actions should have zero baring on the legal process. Add in that he was suspended for a violation of their "personal conduct policy" vice an actual domestic violence situation, and it doesn't appear it would give anyone much ground to stand on.

I can't disagree with that perspective. He's shown questionable judgment and needs to grow up - maybe this is what it takes. That said, the NFL's process of administering punishment leaves much to be desired.

I would doubt very seriously that CPD would reopen an investigation based upon the NFL's decision. While the accuser may well sue, what the NFL has done has virtually zero bearing on any legitimate, legal, factor in such a suit. To the extent that the suspension of Zeke means anything vis a vis whether a sexual assault occurred, it would constitute inadmissible hearsay.

Agree with both the dissenting opinions and the fact that he is being an idiot and needs to grow up. However, if that was the basis for being suspended from the NFL or a job in general, then Katy bar the gates if you know what I mean.....

The accuser is always free to bring a civil cause of action if no charges are brought criminally. I have done it several times, the burden of proof on a civil assault/battery (usually preponderance of the evidence, aka 51% chance) is incredibly lower than the burden of proof for criminal charges (beyond reasonable doubt, aka 100% he did it). That being said, you want to see if criminal charges are filed and if they get convicted/plead guilty to something, because then it is a slam dunk on the civil side. The NFL's decision may be admissible evidence to help support a civil claim, but I would fight the shit out of that information getting to a jury if I'm the defense (FRE 403, more prejudicial than probative, irrelevant, etc.). Even if it did get in, it should carry very, very little weight in determining the outcome of a civil case. On the CPD, they're not going to reopen their investigation after the decision was made not to press charges.

My comment tracks what most have said. Zeke needs a damn wake-up call and he needs it now. Regardless of whether he is completely innocent on this, he has shown a recent history of conduct that is not acceptable and I agree that might have contributed to this suspension. To that end, even if he appeals it and gets it reduced/dismissed, I hope this helps fix his behavior. On the other hand, get your shit together NFL...you make zero sense in dishing out "justice" and nobody is able to take you seriously.
