RB Ezekiel Elliott (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All Pro, New England Patriots)

Maybe next time, wait until you have more information before making such a strongly-worded statement.

How was that strongly worded at all? I said just about all signs point to him not beating her, not "there's no chance he hit her". Also, mind pointing me to the evidence that he did? Maybe you should take a second to really read what I wrote and how I phrased it before lecturing me

I don't give a fuck what others get for similar offenses. You don't hit women.

Fuck the NFL? No, fuck Elliott.

Dead to me.
I feel like this is less about the NFL, and a lot more about the facts. Nothing I have seen proves Zeke touched her, or that is is innocent. If his voicemails are released, and it is her threatening to falsely accuse him, then the NFL failed in a big time way by not listening to Zeke's side.

Roger G does not want to look like an idiot. If he looked at all possible situations, and Zeke is guilty, then he is "lucky" to only get 6 games. If the evidence is shaky, and they tossed out a suspension to send a message, or just in case he is guilty, that's fucked up.

Go re-read what you wrote. And then read this:

In a letter to Elliott advising him of the league's decision, the NFL said the experts "were of the view that there is substantial and persuasive evidence supporting a finding that [Elliott] engaged in physical violence" multiple times in July 2016.

I am going to reasonably assume that the NFL, which isn't a boy scout troop by any stretch, has seen enough to feel a suspension is warranted or they wouldn't have suspended a star on a premier team.

If they totally botched it and he never touched her then, sure, but it seems like I'm reading a lot of "The Freeh report is full of shit" type of arguments so far.

Hoping we as a fan base are better than that.

Not so fast my friend. Where are the fax and evidents that you believe the NFL possess? In the case of PSU there was actually a report, here it is more of a trust me we got the goods, so far. Iirc Zeke is from the Show Me State and I would think he would like to have his day in the court of public opinion to refute charges he has previously had dismissed.

Not the NFL, Roger Goodell. I think Roger does make all the decisions about punishment, yes? I really don't trust Goodell personally, I think he abuses his power. Elliott, is this the same case that the bouncer, among others, swore she was in a bar fight with someone else? I want to know if this punishment is about something more than what I have already read about, which was hotly contested, allegedly a set-up, and resulted in no charges. Punishment shouldn't happen based on accusations alone, but I feel like that is good enough for Goodell.

I'm no fan of Goodell, but it appears he was far from the only person at the NFL looking into this.

...
The league also consulted with medical experts. League investigators examined all available evidence, including photographic and digital evidence, thousands of text messages and other records of electronic communications.
“Pursuant to the Personal Conduct Policy, Commissioner Goodell sought the views of four external advisors (see below) to assist him in evaluating potential violations. These experts range in experience from law enforcement, judicial and public service, and other specialized subject areas.
“The advisors participated in a meeting on June 26, 2017 in New York City with Elliott, who was represented by his legal team and the NFL Players Association. The group also reviewed the league’s investigative reports and materials, the expert medical reports, and multiple NFL Players Association submissions on Elliott’s behalf.
...
these advisors ‘were of the view that there is substantial and persuasive evidence supporting a finding that [Elliott] engaged in physical violence against Ms. Thompson on multiple occasions during the week of July 16, 2016.’
...

(emphasis added). Those advisors reached a pretty damning conclusion that's not a good look at all for Zeke.

my fax and evidents are the simple logical assumption that the NFL didn't suspend him for the fun of it

He did something. Specifically it would seem he hit a woman.

The capricious nature of RG's (see what I did there?) punishments are a straw man. It doesn't change the fact of what he did (allegedly)

Like he consulted with experts on CTE to cast doubt it is real?? LOL. The only purpose of anyone under him investigating is to help him reach the predeteemined conclusion he wants to reach. Yes, I distrust the man that much. By all means, Goodell should release the damning proof he has, in order to do right by the victim and make Zeke get his criminal punishment, since he must have a smoking gun, right?

Look, I would be the first guy to go down swinging if someone abused my daughter. There just seems to be a lot of ambiguity and interpretation going on here. I feel like it's a Dateline or 48 hours right now.

Edit: The NFL and Goddell don't really inspire any confidence regarding these types of issues for me. There is just too much inconsistency in the decisions and punishment/fines for my taste.

Agreed. I assume we are all against any sort of domestic violence here. Just seems a little weird that the National Football League is apparently conducting independent criminal investigations now.

According to the NFL, Zeke basically had to have detailed pics of her before and after the alleged bar fight and also before he saw her that evening in order to prove the bar fight and not Zeke was to blame. Even video of her in a bar fight wouldn't be enough. Zeke couldn't meet his burden of proof. Apparently testimony is not proof per Roger Goodell.
