RB Ira Guilford (Official Thread)

I had thought that the conjecture was that our pal LI had done most of the assaulting and all the robbing. I imagine it depends on the story that he told Coach Tressel... and whether the agrees with the story of the victim.

hopefully trash like this never suits up for the Bucks. OSU students deserve to feel safe on campus. It's one thing to be beaten up by a bunch of thugs on High street. It's quite another to be attacked by a fellow student. Good riddance

I can't disagree here...unprovoked assault cannot be forgiven.

However, I'm still waiting to hear the entire story

i feel bad for IG.....or IBG as it is now. he has 1 major arrest on his record which is too many for tOSU and WAYYYYYYYYYY too few for miami. now hes lost in that middle ground. maybe miami will take a chance on him despite his obvious short comings.

I don't believe for a second this assault was completely unprovoked. I've seen way too much aggression down there that late at night. My figuring is the boy probably finally picked the wrong fight and LI was stupid enough to take his wallet and hang himself and ira was too stupid to stop him.

Former OSU Player Sentenced For Assault
Guilford, Irizarry Arrested By OSU Police

POSTED: 6:13 pm EDT October 4, 2004

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A former Ohio State football player will not go to jail after admitting to beating a former student, WCMH-TV reported.

Ira Bell-Guilford was sentenced Monday to two years of probation and 45 days of house arrest after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge.

Ohio State police arrested Bell-Guilford and former teammate Louis Irizarry in May after they allegedly assaulted a student and stole his wallet.

Bell-Guilford said he wants to return to Ohio State and hopefully play for the football team.

"This is most uncharacteristic and I am truly sorry for everything that has happened," Bell-Guilford said. "I embarrassed the university in addition to my family. He knows how I feel and I am very sorry for the whole thing."

Bell-Guilford will testify if called upon against Irizarry when his trial begins next week.

Bell-Guilford also paid the student back, including a semester of tuition because the student had to drop out of school.
