RB J.K. "All Day" Dobbins (2017 B1G CG MVP, 2019 1st Team All-American, Los Angeles Chargers)

Folks love JK, but I wonder how folks feel about anyone breaking Griffin’s record. I mean, records are meant to be broken and I’m sure Archie would be literally the first guy in line to congratulate, but he’s is THE Legend, so I wonder if there would be some sadness over that.

If you mean sadness from Archie, it's understandable. Whose name do you want in the record book? Yours, or someone else's?
If you mean sadness from fans, yes and no. Yes from people older than me, who have fond memories of Archie playing. They think of those years as the "good ol' days", and don't want any young whippersnapper breaking Archie's record. No from people younger than me, who, for them, these are the "good ol' days", and don't want their "guy" kept out of the record books.
It doesn't matter much, since I think we all agree that he won't have a fourth year at Ohio State.

It's been a pet peeve of mine hearing guys like Klatt attributing his resurgence almost solely to Fields being a run threat. Yes, that's part of it, but he has clearly worked his ass off and made himself a better player too.
To potentially annoy you further, he also has 4/5 new offensive linemen which is certainly a factor as well, and Kevin Wilson helping ol’ Stud out quite a bit with coaching up said OL.

J.K. Dobbins’ dominance of Northwestern and wondering who’ll be the best RB on the field in the Wisconsin game

By Ari Wasserman Oct 18, 2019

EVANSTON, Ill. — Most of Ohio State’s sideline made its way to the southeast corner of Ryan Field to sing “Carmen Ohio” Friday night after the Buckeyes’ rout of Northwestern, the Buckeyes’ seventh blowout win in seven games. But running backs J.K. Dobbins and Marcus Crowley and running back coach Tony Alford lagged behind, laughing with each other. It sounded as if Alford was teasing Crowley for being too slow on a 53-yard run in the game’s final drive before the clock ran out.

Dobbins was laughing and hugging his position coach. He looked genuinely happy, complete. He was outwardly joyous.

Then Dobbins ran over to the stands, took off his gloves and handed them to a 16-year-old girl from Findlay, Ohio, wearing a white No. 2 Ohio State jersey. That girl, Autumn Ayivi, screamed at the top of her lungs, jumped up and down and almost fell over the railing. Then tears came.

“I can’t believe I got his gloves,” said Ayivi, still shaking. “I love Ohio State. I have loved Ohio State my whole life. I’m from Ohio. I am wearing his jersey. I have his glove. That’s so crazy to me. Every time he touches the ball, he just has a special touch to it. Every time he runs it, we always get something. He’s amazing.”

I was most impressed with the route he ran and the catch in traffic for his touchdown. That's how you get paid to play on Sunday's right there

it was a special play that Day drew up just for NW. Just like he did with the TD to Victor against Sparty. Looking forward to what he draws up for UW with hopes of a similar outcome.
