RB J.K. "All Day" Dobbins (2017 B1G CG MVP, 2019 1st Team All-American, Los Angeles Chargers)

I'd give the nod to JK in every aspect at the moment because Weber doesn't look like he's healthy out there runnin the football! Until he gets fully healthy I give the nod to Dobbins for a larger role in the offense because the offense looks a lot more explosive with him out there. Not to mention his pass catching ability has been really great as he's got vertical down the field to make a few receptions this year.
Jk is better at everything other then being tough between the tackles. Mike is naturally a bigger guy and is very good at taking hits and falling forward.

Jk will probably be a top 5 pick one day but many of us forget how tough Mikey is

Buckeye Breakdown: The J.K. Dobbins Effect

J.K.-Dobbins-Nebraska-Whiff.jpg

Admittedly, I was late to jump on the “Hype Train” that was J.K. Dobbins. I just couldn’t wrap my head around a freshman running back making such an impact at this stage in his career.

But here we are, seven weeks into his career and he has rushed for 775 yards on 100 carries.

He currently sits 11th nationally in rushing yards, but more impressively, he averages only 14.6 carries per game, which is 68th nationally.

Dobbins’ versatility fits the offensive scheme well and allows him to be an every-down back, just like Mike Weber. But more importantly, the offensive brain trust of the Buckeyes is able to play fresh legs on each drive with little or no drop off in production.

As we saw last Saturday night, Dobbins is able to gain yardage when there is otherwise nothing available.

Toss Left

The very next play, the Buckeyes ran to the short side of the field behind Rashod Berry and a key kickout block by Jamarco Jones to spring Dobbins for a 52-yard touchdown run. The cutback ability of Dobbins no doubt had an effect on the Huskers secondary. As you see in the clip below, Nebraska cornerback Lamar Jackson (#21) held on the hash to protect against the cutback, and the small hesitation was all Dobbins needed to hold off the defender for the touchdown.

I'd prefer he get 14-16, with Weber getting 12-14, and Williams, McCall, Burrow, and Haskins splitting 15-20.

I feel like it's time to turn JK loose again. Sometimes I feel like the split carries kill a bit of the mental momentum our RB's are gaining in a game. Not saying I don't like the fresh legs and all, I just think a guy gets to thinking 'I'm going to break the next one' and boom...substitution. Wouldn't mind seeing them both in the game at the same time.

Big games require big time players touching the ball. Dobbins and Campbell are our most dangerous guys with the ball in their hands along with Dixon. Hoping they each get a lot of touches.

Yessir. Unleash the beast.

Every loss in the Urban era has one thing in common - we didn't give our RB the damn ball. Obviously there is more to winning and losing than that, but it's not a coincidence.

[Zeke] him.
Totally agree. We have to get the ball in the hands of our best and most explosive player's and that means feed JK the ball. If he gets 25 touches he will be in the 175-200 yard range.
