RB Jordan Hall (Official Thread)

Is there any chance of him not playing the rest of the season and getting a medical redshirt?

We're not past the midway point of the season and he hasn't played in 30% of the games, so it could qualify (one more appearance and he goes over 30%).

But he could rehab daily and push through it.

Bummer. Anybody know stuff about this type of injury?

It's not good. I have a stretched PCL from a bicycle accident. It's called a dashboard injury because it normally happens when you slam your knee into the dash in a car accident. I had a limp for a couple of years. When I felt like getting back into the gym it caused a lot of problems when my hamstring and IT band tightened up. This pulls the lower half of the leg back and causes pain in the knee. The pain is severe enough that your muscles kind of shut down which makes the problem worse. I had to go through physical therapy to get the muscles to fire again. To counter-act a stretched PCL, the only thing you can do is build up quad muscles to try to pull the lower part of the leg forward. I do a lot of squats and lunges to the point it doesn't cause much of a problem anymore. The specialist told me that having surgery on a stretched PCL doesn't work since it just stretches back. I seem to recall that it would have been better to have a tear since they would operate on it then. Hopefully they can do something for him and it isn't career ending. It's a bad injury since you lose a lot of stability with a bad PCL. Seems like they can do a lot more for an ACL.

Depth chart has Carlos Hyde OR Jordan Hall starting. With Hyde coming on lately I'd love to see a healthy Hall to compliment him and take some of the load off Braxton. I think it'll be tough with as much time as he's missed this year though.

All three deserve playing time. Smith has garnered a lot of respect.
