I won't be upset when he's gone. So Clarity you're minority just got slightly larger. These new allegations aren't all that bad, I've had professors do things such as this for me and people I know, so no big deal. I just don't like anything negative associated with the university.

Slightly, yes, is right. But. He's under a gigantic microscope considering he is an obvious NFL number 1 pick poised for some ultra-dollars upon completion of his 3yrs.

The saving grace is that The NY Times' credibility has gone screaming down hill over the past year.

I know that in their business cover stories have been excellent stock strategies to do contrary to whatever they "expose". Check out stocks symbols: ALD and ACAS.

I think we need to wait on this entire matter and let it play out.

BUT... he has caused more than his fair share of "issues" during his tenure. I don't think he'll stay around after this season IF HE STAYS HEALTHY. If he is, then he'll declare for the draft and use LeBron's agent. If he gets hurt he MAY stick it one more year, but I doubt it.

That's my guess.

I believe Clarret has to wait two more years before he can enter the draft. But I don't see him hanging around any longer than he has to. Not that I'd blame him. He has millions of dollars waiting for him on the other side.

Sidenote: It is nice to only see one thread on this whole episode. I would say that the NY Times has just lost one reader but I gave up on that rag after they slandered Kent State.

I'm glad Maurice is here(slighty less, but

I just came back from Youngstown after a weeks vacation and I heard from good friends who are close to the Clarett situation and they all agree that he has dissapointed alot of people thru his off campus actions in and around the Y-town area. And one of the big reasons he did not particpate in any spring drills was because of academic reasons. One suggested that Tressel needs to get a hold of these situations real quick before it becomes very damaging to OSU and the community of Youngstown. This was all said before the New York Times allegations. But no one has positive proof for right now and I would be safe to say that it is all mere speculation at this point. The whole situation to me is like a time-bomb waiting to explode. And I just can't beleive all this is happening after all we have been thru.

And also I was stunned to talk to some, who said that they do not like Tressel. And these people live right in Youngstown. Maybe I live in a fish bowl or I am a little naive here. But I sure hope that Jim Tressel can be instrumental in bringing all this to a good and decent closing of the whole matter.

I know I posted back on BN during the middle of last season that when it was time for Maurice to depart TOSU that we would miss the "player" much more so than we'd miss the "person."

I'll stand by that.

I don't know gbear. I was talking to one of the Buckeyes that graduated this season and he said the scuttle-butt was that Clarett will try and leave after 2 seasons at OSU. This was/is just speculation, but it seems some of his teammates still think he might have some way around the rules because of his early graduation from High School. How that would work I have no friggin clue! I was surprised to hear that scenario again (from a player no less). I hadn't heard talk of that since Mo's SI article. Take it for what it's worth - rumor.

Go Bucks!

I heard the same thing. IMHO if he gets nailed for more than two games and decides to challenge the NFL I will personally help send him money for his legal fund. To Hell with the NCAA if this is true. Unless they force scUM to forfeit every game Woodson played in after he received clothes from his agent they are being hypocrits.

Amen!

Don't forget that they may clear Adrian McPherson, who is accused of BETTING ON GAMES IN WHICH HE PLAYED, to play for Tenessee St. Apparently potential point shaving and game fixing is not as bad as test driving a car.
