Seems like ESPN the Magazine is wanting to turn this into a war! It pains me to see Tressels picture as if it is representing a criminals picture. I hope these bastards get whats coming to them.

ESPN can say and/or write all they want. What's their source of information? Maurice Clarett?
The University is denying all of the accusations and the alumini are backing them up.

    ESPN's taking this too far.

For some reason they have some sort of love affair with MoC and anything that comes out of his mouth. Flash back to the Fiestabowl week and how ESPN had a mike in his face even if he farted. They love him, he's the Ron Artest and Dennis Rodman of college football. Put a mike in his face and watch the ratings rise. Fuck'em.

I once heard while Tressel was in high school he tried to steal a JV players lunch and give it to a better player because he was still hungry. I guess, ESPN hasn't gotten ALL the dirt on JT from his earlier days.

There goes another 5 minutes of my life I'll never have back.

We were just talking about this at dinner in the cafeteria tonite... For some reason, America doesn't want to see people succeed. The country is so obsessed with bringing others down to pull themselves up that they'll stop at nothing to discredit an upstanding individual or group. Think about it though... someone makes it big and rather than supporting them, we look for the fall. This was obviously going on during the election season. Roethlisberger right now - everyone's looking for his "rookieness" to come out and for Pittsburgh to start losing. Everybody hates the Yankees, Duke, and Microsoft because they're so good at what they do (maybe too good, but that's for another day). In the olympics this summer, people were rooting against the US bball team, hoping Allen Webb would do bad, etc. All of the celebrities these days - they only make the news if they get arrested or cause trouble. Same goes with sports stars (Artest, Carmelo, etc).

Pretty sickening if you ask me.

Everyone should relax. ESPN has nothing new. This all stale news from the past. When it's over, ESPN is going to look like the idiots that they are.

  15. Tressel Target of concerted effort by espn

After watching espn's Ely moments ago, I see a concerted espn effort to smear Tressel well beyond the Clarett interview.

They are attempting to "reveal" a Tressel pattern here that extends decades.

--Clarett and all his "taking one for the team" reveals JT turns his head at players receiving money from "boosters"

-- Most players do it. Today, Smith is quoted as saying he believes players got and get money from boosters.

-- Ex-players cite receiving favors, money, jobs with no oversight by JT.

-- YSU players, specifically QB received 10K and JT "turned his head", didn't want to know.

ELy says "stay tuned tonight for next revelation of Clarett's in midnight SC program...this just extends the drama. The espn drums are beating.

Believe me, old news or not, espn is out to destroy Tressel. I'm sure one of their (and revenge seeking Clarett's) angles is to create a firestorm now in advance of last 2 games hoping the distraction will have a negative effect on Tressel's ability to coach team to wins in final two.

JT is going to need every friend he's ever had to quell this unfair, biased attack. I'm not one to get too excited about much of anything, but Bucks, this is a very carefully, at-the-top approved attack on Ohio State and specifically, Jim Tressel. I look for "new" revelations as the week and weekend come around.
