Looking for something fairly basic to improve overall sound in room. Will be watching movies and sports. Room is on the smaller size, 11 X 18.

Don't need anything state of the art and am staying away from surround sound because I may only be here another year.

Dumped my Panasonic Blue Ray 5.1 for a ZVOX 555 over the weekend. This thing is awesome. It's not a substitute for true surround, but it sounds great and no more annoying wires and clutter. Highly recommended. Debated between that and the Bose Solo, but really no comparison in sound. The Bose has no bass or treble adjustments.

I'm looking for an inexpensive soundbar now as well. What did you end up going with?


I'd like to get something to upgrade the sound in our master bedroom. I have a 47" flat screen in there now, but the problem I find with flat screens is the speakers are in the back and I don't think the sound quality is that great. The TV is not mounted, it's just on a pedestal on top of our dresser, so the bar will go right under it, I assume.
