Relations who are of different religious beliefs and social conventions

In general, I don't find the act of someone simply handing out pamphlets to be that bad. Although I don't need the Jehova's Witnesses stopping by house to talk to me, I'll sometimes take their literature and just deposit in the trash. But I realize that scenario's also dealing with people which I don't have existing relationships.

I still don't like that either but I often do the same. Take it out of politeness but then I get angry at myself for providing the politeness I feel they were lacking in giving it to me in the first place. Stupid, I know.

This strikes me as also possibly being related to the newness of their conviction. I've met a number of religious people that have a fine sense of humor about religious topics
Totally agreed. His wife has been a Christian for far longer and she and I joke with each other more.

Oh well, sometimes it does not even matter what was said as much as who said it. Maybe your husband would have received a pass since they're brothers.

And yes, agreed as well, at his brother receiving a pass because, as I mentioned earlier, OCB tells me he doesn't get the same sort of treatment from the man.
As long as it wasn't said in front of my kids I wouldn't consider it to be that big of a deal, but I've also been a Christian for 30+ years, so I've also dealt with such things before.

His kids are barely 6 months and were across the room to boot. I thought he was far enough away to not hear it when I chose to say it. I was trying to still be respectful of his house. :)

OCBW, I want you to know I respect your opinions so much, I will not tell you to go to church, offer you pamphlets, or buy you a Bible.

Instead, I signed you up for a gameshow:

Interesting tidbit:
A team of theologians will ensure that the atheists are truly non-believers and are not just seeking fame or a free holiday.

I wonder how they really plan on doing that, and conversely, how they plan on ensuring the new convert is a true enough convert to win the prize?
