Ricky Williams (official thread)

Ricky Williams on 60 minutes

anyone see the ads running for his interview tomorrow night? What's with the unibomber beard he's got going on? Why doesn't he just go away if he doesn't want to play?

He was whacked..

Made a bet with Wallace that he will not go back to football..then said "Oh wait, what is the wager?"

Ricky Williams

I thought Nick Saban was smarter than this. Ricky Willaims was as big a problem (disruption) to the Dolphins as Maurice was to Ohio State. Why would you want him back? Unless they could trade him and get some "value" out of him.

Miami Dolphins: After a month of avoiding coach Nick Saban's phone calls, Ricky Williams answered.

The Miami Herald reported that the pair talked last week after Saban tried for a month to get in contact.

The paper also reports that Williams made the statement he had quit using marijuana in front of several people during a meeting regarding his paternity suit involving former South Florida resident Cherie Clark.

Williams has also been advised to drop his appeal of the $8.6 million judgement against him that ordered him to repay the Dolphins. The NFL players' association doesn't think it will win in court.

Saban has left the door open for a Williams return provided the former player were to bring "value" to the team.

Maybe by "value" he meant some good weed?

There are a couple of things at play here.

First, yesterday was the last day for Ricky to file for arbitration and a re-hearing on this. He did not. Now, at least in theory, the only way he could get out of paying the Dolphins back the money he owes, is to declare that he is bankrupt.

If the Dolphins should decide to place a lien on Ricky for the money, his agent's contention is that would make Ricky's contract void and make Ricky a free agent. Of course, Spielman and Wayne H, don't see it that way, so it would be something for a judge to decide.

Saban has left the door open to Ricky so he can either:

1) See if Ricky has any value left that could be used by the Dolphins.

and/or more likely

2) Setup a trade to Oakland, who has expressed intrest in him.

Knowing Ricky, I was shocked when this happened. He had allways felt that he would just sit out the suspension. Next thing we knew, he was in the Outback of Australia.

In October, Jason Taylor (Akron) throws a Halloween party. Jason came dressed as Ricky (bald guy wearing dread locks) with a back pack and camping gear.
