No idea where else to put this. Not a topic for the recruiting forum, not sure if maybe general CFB, but I'm going politic/philosophical.

Man, this makes my stomach turn. If I had a Rivals sub I'd cancel on principle. If you're an adult and tracking strange eleven and twelve year olds, you need help. And if you take up the Twitter/Facebook to start DM'ing my child, I'm turning your ass over to the police.

Ugh. I find a lot of the stuff that goes on with tracking 17 and 18 year old players to be creepy. This is a whole other level.

I only partially fault Scout for this. They wouldn't be doing it if there wasn't a market for it.

I was a badass in 6th grade. Then I started drinking and smoking and jerking off. My Scout profile would have been sketchy at best...

Seriously though, judging athletes at that age is a fool's errand. I think I was the tallest dude in my class at that age (several chicks were taller than me iirc). I wasn't even close to the tallest dude by the time I graduated high school. Who pays money for this stuff? Jerry Sandusky is still in prison right?

It seems like a money grab to me. Get some very proud (i.e. gullible and stupid) parents to shell out some cash for their kids to go to a rivals camp and get "ranked" on a website.
Of course it's a cash grab. Tho it's aimed at the very smart (i.e. gullible and stupid) fans to shell out some cash for "inside information" on a website that they could get for free if they embraced their creep factor and created a fake twitter account as a 12 year old girl and catfished the "prospects" directly.

It was only a matter of time. A friend of mine coaches his son's grade school football team. They have some parents who are taking their 5th graders around the state to get rated and evaluated. Maybe Rivals will allow parents to "support" a rating for their child through a small monetary contribution.
