Why can't teams win on the road in the playoffs this year...This is beyond ridiculous...I understand it is hard to win on the road...

The thing I don't understand is why the teams look like total opposites...Why can't guys make shots on the road...Why do teams turn the ball over more on the road...

I understand that the crowd can bother a team, and I understand the whole, you are in your own arena, own bed, etc....

But basketball is basketball, no matter where it is played...whether you are on the playground, in your arena, overseas, on a boat, at home, whatever...The ball is the same, the rim is still 10 foot, the 3 point line is the same, free throw line the same...

Now playing ball quite a bit I understand some rims are more forgiving than others...

What I don't understand is why a team can play better defense at home than on the road...It is the playoffs you should be able to find your own motivation and not need a crowd behind you...

Are the refs that much of a difference...I do see quite a few homer calls at times...But this beat a team by 20 at home lose by 20 on the road is crazy...

Any explanations...Are all these teams that mentally soft...What is the deal???

After seeing tonights game, the foul calls against the road team really needs to be looked into. West got screwed in a major way, and if you look at the differences in the other series, it heavily favors the home team.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but the trend in the Boston-Cleveland series has been the road team has consistently shot more free throws than the home team.....not sure foul calls are the issue why every team has struggled on the road.

Boston fits this to a tee.......plays great defense at home and struggles on the road.....

In the decisive game seven, the Cavs were called for 28 fouls; the Celtics 26. Cleveland shot 35 FTs; the Celtics 34.

Game one fouls: 21-20
Game two: 27-26
Game three: 21-27
Game four: 17-17
Game five: 18-27
Game six: 16-25

Series fouls against each team: Cavs 148, Celts 168

Home teams: 153
Away teams: 163

Stands to reason given that Boston shoots more jumpers and LeBron drives a lot, so the Cavs would likely get a few more calls (average, about 3/game). Also, the home team won every game, so the visitors were fouling late trying to extend the game.

I don't think its any one thing, just a wierd year. If you look at it on a team by team basis you might get a better idea.

Boston, imo, should be worried. They have had no need to struggle like they have. The competition has been the weakest of any of the remaining 4/5 teams and they look just helpless on the road.

Detroits road woes were 100% the results of their on again off again concentration and effort levels. I hate them because of the state they represent but I expect them to take Boston out. When they want to be they are a great team.

The lakers are 3-2 on the road in the post season and the two losses were against a very good at home Utah team and both were close.

The NO/SA series I can't explain. No reason for two teams that good to have so many lopsided games.

So all in all, I have no freakin idea why its so lopsided for the home teams this year. Just numbers doing funny things as they are known to do every now and again.
