Not really a grammar question, per se, but what exactly is the difference between "sooner rather than later", and "soon"? In my opinion, it is better rather than worse to avoid the former.

And when did half the population unlearn how to spell the word "lose"?

So "sooner rather than later" essentially means "very soon"? Or, more generally, negatively defining a word after using it emphasizes the degree to which one means it? That makes little, rather than lots, of sense to me.

Well, yeah. It's clunky but not hard to understand. "Sooner than later" is a whole nother story though.

You forgot the apostrophe before 'nother.

I think you loose the apostrophe unless its possessive, but I could be totes wrong.
