Ron Artest (a/k/a Metta World Peace)

f I were Cleveland I wouldn't give up Varejao and I would prefer not to give up Jackson, but he would probably be the cornerstone of the deal since Bird likes him. If the above trade went through I think the Cavs would need to move Hughes to PG and Lebron to SG to fit Artest in at SF

Hughes to the point? No way. He's much better suited to play center.

Someone help me out and undo the greenies I accidentally gave the spammer when I tried to report it as spam.

Seriously, wtf is with these idiots wanting to change their names to these ridiculous nonsense monikers? First Chad Johnson (I will never call him that dumbass "ochocinco" shit), now Artest.

Reminds me of this girl that worked in the employee cafeteria at Cedar Point when I worked at the park in '07 and '08. Like every other week she would have a name tag with a different name, and she was legit requesting name changes. I overheard her one day mention that HR refused to accept another name change. Absolutely ridiculous.

Except Artest is actually crazy.

America, say hello to Metta World Peace.

With one stroke of a pen, Los Angeles Lakers forward Ron Artest officially became Metta World Peace on Friday. Let the puns begin.

After years of contemplating a name change ? and a delay caused by some unpaid parking tickets ? Artest finally can be known by his new handle. LA Superior Court commissioner Matthew St. George signed off on the change in a hearing that took fewer than 30 seconds.

In at statement issued by his publicist, Courtney Barnes, after the hearing, Artest ? er, World Peace ? said, "Changing my name was meant to inspire and bring youth together all around the world. After this short delay, my tickets have been paid and I'm glad that it is now official."

Whoops. Not too 'peaceful' there, Metta.

LOS ANGELES (AP) Lakers forward Metta World Peace has been ejected for elbowing Oklahoma City's James Harden in the head.

World Peace was ejected for a flagrant foul late in the second quarter Sunday.

World Peace had just dunked on a fast break and was celebrating his basket while running upcourt when he ran into Harden. While World Peace pounded his chest with his right arm, he threw his left elbow right over Harden's shoulder and into the back of his head.

Harden dropped to the court and stayed down for about a minute. Oklahoma City's Serge Ibaka and teammates challenged World Peace, but they were kept apart.
