respect?,

If we have to score 30 points to win the game we're in big trouble... I like the under in this one (39 points last I checked)... I understand your place kicker has gotten better... I think the nuge will need to carry us as far as getting points are concerned...

"i think there are some weaknesses back there."

The secondary hasn't given up a single over-the-head TD pass in two years...not one.

Here's TD passes given up this year, by game:

Washington: 0
San Diego State: 1
NC State: 3 (regulation)
Bowling Green: 2
Northwestern: 0
Wisconsin: 1
Iowa: 0
Indiana: 1 (against subs)
Penn State: 1
Michigan State: 2
Purdue: 0

We've given up 11 TD passes in 11 games. Not great, but not shabby. We've also held two of the conference's most potent passing offenses to 2 TD passes total during the last two games. We also held one Heisman candidate QB and his Heisman candidate WR to 0 TDs (Washington) and held the potential Heisman winner (Rivers) to near squat over three quarters. Also, our starters have given up but 4 TD passes in 7 conference games.

referring to cody pickett as a heisman candidate is somewhat laughable, but thats not the issue...

if the pass d is so great, why are they ranked 60-something in the nation? there are weaknesses. smoker had 268 passing yards at the half against you guys and that was with zero running attack to help him out.

you haven't given up the big scores but you haven't had to cover 3 guys like we have either. it'a a pick-yer-poison type situation.

again, i'm not saying UM wins big, or even wins. but they sure as hell could if things fall into place.

gonna be a good one. good luck, fellas.

hate to say i told you so... but i told y'all so.

i knew tOSU had secondary weaknesses, especially if faced with three legit wideouts at once. i didn't however, expect us to run like we did. i think perry is one of the (if not THEE) best backs in the country, but i thought you guys would have a scheme worked up to contain him. i also didn't expect you guys to move the ball like you did.

t'was a good game. one of the beter ones i've watched in thebighouse.

He is, offered to change it for him since it seems he might be around longer than that initial "respect?" thread. I should probably make his title "formerly 'respect?'" like I did with BuckNutty for a while, but I forgot.

i kinda dig my new name though. thanks again, clarity.

thatguy, just checking. I found my answer on another thread. I think you'll find most posters here are reasonable and fair. You won't be "run out" of here unless you deserve it (actually, not you specifically, but anyone in general). We all like to talk sports. BTW, what actually happened with Avant (injury)? I ended up watching at a bar and didn't/couldn't hear any of the commentary.

It is interesting to go back and read this thread on the Monday after the game. Of course it is always great to be the Monday QB right?

Oh8Ch you seemed to hit this one right on the head as far as what the outcome would be if certain things happened in the game.
