S Nate Salley (official thread)

You guys want a clip of a 39-yard screen pass by Michigan, on which a blatant block in the back wasn't called? Granted Salley cruched Baas, but that's not a play I like to re-live...

Yes, even though it was a long gain for Michigan.

I still want to see this hit again.. It is not often you see a safety blow up a guard running full speed down the sideline. I believe Baas saw the hit coming and was preparing for it ( i may be mistaken, but i have only had the chance to see the replay during the game)

Baas getting pancaked by Salley just showed me what I already thought. scUM's lineman are just fat, weak, and slow. Our D-line kicked their butts.

And that Salley delivered the biggest hit in the game, not Shazur. I love our young defense.

More cow bell JonathonXC, more cow bell! Salley reminds me more and more of Sean Taylor. Although he is not quite as good as him, he is in the same mold of Sean. Both also like to hit, evidence of that was obviously the Baas hit.

FIVE QUESTIONS WITH...
OSU senior safety Nate Salley

By Doug Harris

Dayton Daily News

Question: Your favorite hit on the football field?

Answer: "I hit (Michigan's) Braylon Edwards once when I was a sophomore, and he flew out of bounds. And in the Indiana game this past year, we just came off a three-game losing streak, and they had a receiver (Courtney Roby) who was coming down the seam. I broke on it. He caught it, and I hit him right in the chest. He just laid out for a few seconds, and the crowd went crazy."

Q: Who's your sports hero?

A: "I always loved Barry Sanders because he was a great player and so humble. But I also liked Deion Sanders because he was flashy and a great player also. Those were two guys I looked up to growing up."

Q: What car are you driving?

A: A 1993 Honda Accord. I've had it since high school. At first, it was a little suspect — I got a lot of flats. But the past year and a half, it's been real good to me. I can't complain."

Q: Which young player will be the next Ohio State All-American?

A: "(Receiver) Tony Gonzalez is very good. Todd Boeckman will be a great quarterback because of his size, strength and decision-making. He even plays pretty well against us on the scout team. He makes some throws that make us say, 'Wow.' And Antonio Pittman will be a great running back when he gets a little stronger and bigger."

Q: What do you like best about your hometown of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.?

A: "I love going to the beach. When I first came up here, besides missing my family, I missed the beach the most. I like going at night, sitting on the sand and listening to the waves. That's one of my favorite things to do."

Florida talent is in for a big year at OSU.
Salley has a great shot at making one of the AA teams IMO.
Dukes should shine as the 4th or 5th WR as the season progresses.
MWells should also shine once he ges used to CFB at OSU.
And it goes without saying that Santonio should thrive in the single coverage required thx to Teddy Ginn.

Just goes to show you if we don't get the best out of florida(rankings wise) that we sure know how to scout and get the ones we feel are really going to help us.

Cheers to the Salley Family!!!

:) Just read this over on Ozone, like I needed an more reason to like Nate Salley anymore.

He's a Convert: OSU safety Nate Salley hails from the Sunshine state of Florida. Salley did not grow up a Buckeye fan, but since coming to Columbus, he has become as Buckeye as a Buckeye can be. His Buckeye fervor has spilled over to the rest of his family who have become an Island of Buckeye mania in his hometown of Fort Lauderdale.
"Everything," said Salley when asked what part of his home in Fort Lauderdale now has a Buckeye flavor.

"My whole house in Fort Lauderdale is scarlet and gray, inside and out. We've got red couches, everything you can think of is scarlet and gray," said Salley.
"My father even has a gray pickup truck now. It's crazy."
