Rivals $ - Tanner checks out Pitt spring practice

4/9

From the Pitt site...says the visit went well...spent time with Coach Wanny in his office...impressed with the academics side at Pitt...goes back and forth between deciding or waiting.

I'm guessing it means he can't decide if he wants to pull the trigger for OSU now or take some officials for fun...and I know which one I would choose...

... Yeah, take another official and keep the party going

I'll probably get dinged for dinging another school, but how the heck can he be impressed with the academics at Pitt? I'm sorry, but unless they've come a waaaaay bit up in the three decades since I've left the collegiate academic scene, there is NO comparison to OSU and Pitt (much less Miami U, or even Ohio U). What am I missing here? For sure, take the officials, get wined and dined, and see some places you've never been. Hey, I had a spaghetti dinner at Ohio Weslyn back in the day.......

Go ahead and commit and then be a cheerleader for recruiting......exhibit leadership beyond your years, it will look great in your 'permanent file'. PS, does anyone know where these permanent files are kept? I'd like a look at mine .

i'm not sure how their undergrad is, but their medical school and research institution is pretty darn good. if that was what impressed him that would be understandable.

Definitely better than OU, comparable to Miami, not as good as OSU. Really good graduate programs, though.

'Academics' is such a staple of recruiting interviews that it is difficult to take any of it seriously. Recruits see the academic support side of a school and hear the methods programs employ to keep kids on track. It can be impressive because it is all about individual attention.
