It's funny that Maldonado is already pointing the gun back at us now that he's experienced his first taste of actual success. I knew Sammy my freshman year in the dorms and can personally say that all of his problems stemmed from his own attitude, and not that of the OSU coaches. Sammy came in with an ego bigger than any other player i'd ever met, which struck me as being odd since at the time he was only a freshman without any playing experience.

I recal having a conversation with Rodney Bailey and he said that Sammy got a lot of his cocky attitude from his parents back out east who let him get away with anything in high school and would give him whatever he wanted in life. I understood what he was saying when i saw sammy pull up in his brand new Escalade or some other kind of SUV that his parents gave him when he came out to Ohio for school.

To me Maldonado didin't really seem like a team player and could really be a pain in the ass when things didn't go his way. Because of this, a lot of us who knew him doubted his commitment to the program, especially when he'd spend weeknights doing his best Ricky Williams "impressions" at the top of Stradley Hall. I mean how seriously can you take a guy that bitches about playing time when he's stoned out of his mind on a Tuesday?

Sammy was an alright guy but he definetly wasn't the victim of any situation during his time here in Columbus.

what's your point Bucknutty? Is a parent not allowed to stick up for her son? Most of us don't have our homework/work habits transmitted across the internet to message boards on a daily basis....

His point, Rashmish, is that Sammy-boy is a whinny little sissy punk ass, crying because he couldn't earn his way into playing time, and dragged his mommy to fight his battles for him. Fuck Maldonado.

I am not sure what you are trying to say here, quit beating around the bush and just say it:biggrin:

69 yard on 13 carries? Not bad...

One of those being a 40 yarder, not really so good.

12 carries accounted for 29 yards, Lydell can do that...its just a shame that Lydell crumples like a Japanese car on first contact or maybe he would get some long plays.

Actually, seeing as Japanese cars are among the very safest in crash tests, I'd like to see "most honorable Rydell-san" have the same toughness...

I met Sammy at the Spring Game in 2001, and he refused an autograph and cut me off in midsentence to talk to his homeboys on his phone. I was 18 at the time, so it wasn't like I was a little kid anymore, but it REALLY pissed me off. Jon Wells saw it happen and came over, apologized, signed my ball and gave me a towel of his. Always going to be a big fan of his after that. Fuck Maldonado. I know people that played with him that said he had a HORRIBLE attitude, so it's not a surprise he didn't get the job.
