Scenarios for Final CFP Playoff Rankings

Clemson at #3 and Oklahoma at #4 are obvious.

Which team gets #1 is up to the committee. According to what I posted in October,
LSU will get it. But based on what happened after that, I changed it to tOSU. It could go either way, so espn will be happy with their ratings tomorrow.

OSU #1 makes sense from a match maker stand point. Clemson LSU is better for the Peach bowl and OSU OU is better for Fiesta Bowl.

OSUs chances of going to finals is highest playing OU, and IIRC OSU was calculated by Forbes as having the largest fan base and was the most valuable program.

If OSU beats OU it creates a guaranteed story line of either the Burrows vs Fields or OSU vs Clemson grudge match.

I think the resume supports OSU being #1, and it also makes sense commercially to have OSU #1.

Either way, only getting to the finals and not winning is not the goal, so if we have to go through Clemson in the semi to get there that's fine too.

LSU beat #9, #11, #12, #4 (as they stand today).
OSU beat #20, #8, #10, #14, #8

Our 8, 10, 14 cancels out their 9, 11, 12. So how much value do you put in their #4 vs our #8 and #20? When you figure their #4 was always overrated at that spot I think we have the edge before you compare our non ranked resume and MOV.

OSU is better than all of them

I’ll say this, this is the best playoff field so far. None of these teams have serious flaws. Oklahoma isn’t an easy out.

Not an easy out, but I think most vulnerable of the group by a lot. Clemson hasn't played anybody so it is hard to get a read on them on how dangerous they really are. I was at the fiesta bowl when they shut us out so it gives me bad flash backs.

Not that it mattered that year but it was basically a home game. Bucks are well represented in Phoenix.

Phoenix is a second home to OSU

I say take any of these mother fuckers there and beat their bitch asses half to death if given the choice.

If #1, then we get OU and would likely choose the Peach bowl (I think) since they would have to travel farther. Not bad for tOSU.

If #2 then it's LSU - OU in the Peach, and us in Glendale against Clemson, also not bad for OSU.

I don't understand... Are you saying the teams choose what bowl we go to for the semis?

I thought it rotated so a specific bowl was pre selected to the host 1/4 seed and the other the 2/3? I thought I saw early brackets (not projections) with Fiesta slotted for the 1/4. Or does the priority slotted bowl get to decide who they want to host, or is there more to it?

Absolutely. They’re less intimidating than Clemson and LSU, but people are acting like OSU could roll their helmets out there and win by 20. That ain’t happening. This Oklahoma team is still LOADED with offensive talent.

No one wants to face Trevor Lawrence and his 8 interceptions against horrible ACC teams.

Really?

I disagree. Jalen Hurts is a better QB and athlete, without question. Lamb is a better WR than all of Clemson’s WRs combined. He is a future NFL record breaker, along the lines of Michael Thomas.

Does Clemson have a better defense? Who knows! They haven’t played a single opponent worth a damn. Might as well line up a schedule full of FCS competition. The ACC is that bad.
