Scholarship Breakdown ... (split from Recruiting Forum)

Oh8ch: Excellent work! Maybe C-Dog can help you in getting it to display full-thread and not have to scroll, like he was able to do with the 2004 Roster, 2004 Preseason Polls, and 2005 Recruiting dBase. As for the amount of schollies, I think we can definitely write-off Guilford and Irizarry. So even if the other "?" folks end up on roster with schollies, that gives us 11 schollies still left.

it appears that Dennis Kennedy may have some grades issues, so he may warrant a (?) as well....

OH8ch- looks good! In addition to putting a (?) by Kennedy's name we probably should do the same next to D. Hiley and R. Smith. Hopefully they get their grades in order but currently they are a question mark.

We may also want to add Olds back with a (?). The latest reports have been a little more optimistic and there is still an outside possiblity he will play this season.

Good job!

I think the most glaring thing this chart shows is that we have 2 seniors and 3 frosh at RB... not a very good distribution, but that's old news. Also, I guess we'll use a walk-on LS next year? That's a very important position in Tressel-ball.

First post, long time Bucknuts poster. Recognize a lot of the same names. Always fun to see the same old stuff presented in a different way. Well organized chart, very easy to read. Stan White as a LB? TE or more likely FB. Otherwise, great list. I know you already know that about Stan, just wanted to point it out for the integrity of the chart. Looking forward to the fresh start on the new (for me) sight. Can't believe it took me this long to find you guys.

I keep hearing R. Smith has left too. Pettrey still has a 'ship and will report in Jan. I think the only question mark right now is Kennedy. So it looks like 20 or 21 'ships to give out depending on Kennedy.

Edit: I hear Guillford may have a path back.

Zeke - Do you have confirmation on Pettrey? I understand that he is coming, but my question is whether he has a ship or a chance to earn a ship.

I have added a ? to Smith. Is there anything stronger than the rumor mill on that one? I really don't want to pull anyone off and add them back on.

It will sure be interesting to see the fall roster come out.

BTW - I was adding the ?s incorrectly on my previous update. They are not included in the number and will reduce it if they become official. So the available ships could be as low as 11.

As of 2/10/04 BN article, Pettrey will have a ship in Jan 05. Same plan as Bauserman was on.

free link

"He'll sign and take care of everything in 2005," said Raceland head coach Randy Vanderhoof.

As it stands right now, Aaron's plan sounds similar to that of Buckeye quarterback Todd Boeckman. Like Boeckman, Pettrey will be able to practice with the team before school starts, but per NCAA regulations, he'll be unable to practice after a certain date until January. Once January of 2005 comes around though, he'll be able to go on scholarship and sign on signing day.
He may already be in town. He should be practicing with the team until school starts like Boeckman did last year.

I'm going with 21 as the magic number.

I saw the same article on Pettrey. I'm not sure on Smith. Word is Duane Long said he is gone but I haven't seen Duane's post. I think a ? is the right thing there. Hopefully we will hear good news on Kennedy soon.

Yeah, I noticed that new math. :)

JMO, but I think the "Casualties" column should only include those that actually signed with OSU. I don't consider Washington a casualty because he never signed an LOI. If you consider him, you'd have to add McClover, Greg Jones, etc. In my mind, a casualty is someone that will hurt our grad rate.

I agree that guys that never signed a LOI are not casualties but this is your deal Oh8ch so do it however you want. It is a very nice way to see where we are regarding 'ships by position and is much appreciated.
