Scholarship Breakdown ... (split from Recruiting Forum)

Texbuck - not sure what you mean. The last column does contain commits. Are you seeing the whole chart or am I misunderstanding what you are saying?

This is the Prego chart man - whatever you want, its in there. (Once we get a valid two deep roster I plan to start highlighting those players somehow. Then maybe I can change the names themselves to hyperlinks to player bios - except for Dustin Fox of course. When you click on his link you will get a bio of somebody with corner skills. :))

I have been very curious about the background to OT-Morris. Can anyone shed some light as to what the real issue was? When you could really use a 5-star OT but you don't fully let him on board, something else is going on... and Morris' statements seem to paint OSU negatively but in such a tone that he's aware if he's too vocal OSU will have to come public with the real root cause.

What's shakin fellas? I've been too busy to check the ol' board lately, but its nice to hear from y'all. Couple of questions to get me caught up:

ZekeD: "Irizzary is gone - enrolled at YSU. Hiley flunked out & will attend a JC in Minny."

Is this official?

Secondly, I thought this was a short year on scholies (approx. 15 or so). If I read the chart correctly, we have 10 more scholies to give out in addition to the 9 commits??

Can someone clear this up for me please?

Also, I thought Frost was tearing it up as a DE. Are you sure he's moved to TE?? Sounds odd to me ...

And fourth, I hope they stick with Kennedy, grade problems aside. Take into account the fact that he just lost his father.

Yes. Reggie Smith is also no longer with the team due to grades.

We've lost several players. Adam Olds is no longer with the team. Hiley, LI, Dennis Kennedy and Reggie Smith are gone and Ira Guilford could be gone.

Tressel confirmed at the Big 33 game that Frost was moving to TE. He's looked really good in the 7 on 7's this summer. The coaches must feel good about the other DE's on the roster in order to make that move.

Kennedy signed with Akron after Ohio State didn't admit him.

Thanks, Nutty - I've been away too long I guess.

Any word on who the starting DE's will be? I've thought that we're stacked at DT, but a little light at DE.

"Adam Olds is no longer with the team. Hiley, LI, Dennis Kennedy and Reggie Smith are gone and Ira Guilford could be gone."

I feel bad for these kids. L.I. is an absolute crying shame. The last minute Miami recruiting wars for him should've been a message that this kid isn't mature enough to play College Football. As for the rest of them, with the exception of Kennedy, there really wasn't a place for them to play. Maybe Hiley would see some time as a KR?

I feel bad about the Kennedy situation. Poor kid. Its gotta be a very tough time for him and his family right now.

Nutty: "Yes you have"

Thanks, dawg. I haven't posted on (or even looked at) the Bucknuts board in many, many months. I have been posting on the Insiders' boards for my beloved Celtics and Yankees. Its time to get back in the College Football swing of things. I needed a break because it doesn't seem like there was ever an offseason after the '02 Classic Season.

"Kudla and Fraser. Richardson looked solid this spring as well."

I heard that Kudla broke Will Smith's reps record at the WHAC. Can't wait to see what kind of year he has.

Mili: "if you'd stay off that other board and hang out here you'd be in the know."

What's up my brother? Long time no talk, good to see that you're still the Big Kahuna around here. Like I said, I haven't even looked at Bucknuts in months. Most of my attention has been going to the Yankees on the Insiders' board, and I'm doing my usual piss-off job there: you can check it out & see that Mr. Musberger doesn't have many fans.

Plus, I had to leave my job in May due to irreconciable (sp?) differences between me and my B**** boss, so I've been pounding the pavement looking for a job. Not much time for me to follow the Bucks.

Best of luck in finding a new job soon. Hey, you know Hawaii has the lowest unemployment rate in the country? Seriously.

No one could be another tibor, on any board.

tibor75: "are you the Tibor of the Yankees board?"

Not a chance. I don't think I could do that if I tried. Just my usual over the top, passionate, posts about the travails and tribulations of a White, Heterosexual, Conservative Male in the U.S. Same ol' crap as always.

What's shakin' Tibbs? Good to see you, too.

Mili: "Best of luck in finding a new job soon. Hey, you know Hawaii has the lowest unemployment rate in the country? Seriously."

Thanks, my brother, but I won't have too much problems finding a new job. I was interviewing quite a bit at places like Citigroup Asset Management in Stamford, CT before the summer vacation period began and most companies put the hiring on hiatus until the Fall. I just haveta wait out another few weeks and be back on track in no time.

I'm just glad to be out of my last job. What a freeking nightmare that was. That job was as painful as having a hot Maize and Blow curling iron stuck up your ass (or so I imagine).

Just updated the thread to address some position changes I am aware of. If there are others that are solid info please let me know.

I also underlined the names of who I think will be in the two-deep. Probably a few more that are solid, but I will update that more completely when the first official list comes out from OSU.

Gotta give some props to Jason Caldwell. After four years at TE I read in BSB last week that he was getting reps at OL. In today's Dispatch they say he is moving to DE. Sounds like a kid who just wants a chance to see the field. Gotta love those kids who spend five years in practice and scout teams and rarely see the field - yet you never see their name in the paper for a DUI or some other BS. (Unfortunately, when a kid moves from a position that suddently has no depth his chance of seeing many reps don't look good.)
