Are we setting ourselves up for a disappointing recruiting year on a national level? Or will thing change greatly throughout the year?

We're setting ourselves up fine to put together another solid class. But I think it is a down year in Ohio somewhat and that will put the masses on edge because we rely heavily on the in-state kids.

if we win the NC its almost impossible to have that down of a year. Other than that i think a 3 star player from ohio is better than a 5 star player from southern fla. It seems like they pump out kids that seem to know how to play ball but dont develop right or they just dont have as good of a head on their shoulders as ohio kids.

Any list that doesn't include Ben Martin or Eugene Clifford in the top 50 is fraudulant in my book. Martin should be an easy 5* player ( I guess Chris Pool and Jamie Newberg know a little more about Martin than Duane Long?), and Clifford isn't even a top 100 player??? I know rankings don't matter, but Scout is a joke!

Barksdale isn't in the Top 100 either.

Terrible list. These are all the Ohio guys ranked so far:
Chris Smith (22)
Saine (11)
Herron (21)
Jeremiah (11)
Daryle Bellew (22/DT)
Martin (8)
Solomon Thomas (26/3*)
Dailey (16)
Elliot (29)
Peake (7/S)
Clifford (12)
Torrence (14/S)
Oliver (21)
Mabin (16/CB)

Two guys top 10 at their position? Torrence at safety? C'mon.

Yea, the Scout list is pretty crappy. Bynes, Edwards, and Easterling from Florida shouldn't be Top 100 players. However, this IS a pretty special year for Florida in terms of top talent, the depth isn't as good as some past years, but the very top talent in Florida is exceptional. I think guys like T. Davis, J. Brown, J. Brantley, S. Garcia, C. Rainey, A. Allen, D. Thompson, D. McCray, N. Devine, J. Wilson, and M. Wright should all be no-brainer Top 100 guys. It's easy to say Florida can't possibly have 10+% of the Top 100, but if you look at it by an individual basis, it's hard to reject any of those 10 guys. The others I think are debatable, but guys like E. Davis, A. Easterling, and James Scott are all pretty good prospects as well.

Somehow Deonte Thompson fell from the top 10, to the mid 50's. Anybody wanna explain that one? Obviously the midwest got snubbed, but how did he suddenly become a bad player??

AND WHAT IS WITH THE LOVEFEST FOR ARRELLIOUS BENN? I have yet to see why he's going to light up the world as a receiver. He doesn't have the speed to be a deep threat, and doesn't have the height to be a dwayne jarrett possesion guy. He'll be good, but I'm not sure if he should be top 10... Although, that's only my opinion.
