If my house got pinched in the last month, I'm getting a kick ass security system, certainly at least a gun in my br and a couple of dogs. Something smells fishy.

Perhaps he was prohibited from possessing a gun as part of his probation?

I can't believe Tibor hasn't made an appearance in this thread yet. :tongue2:

I realize this could happen anywhere...but if one positive can come from this, I pray it be that light is shed upon Miami's awful sub-human culture. Hopefully the publicity associated with Sean Taylor's passing will give the city of Miami some incentive to clean up their city.

Haven't you heard? They closed the Orange Bowl and will rebuild in a safer part of town. Problem solved.

Perhaps, but if my home got robbed 8 days earlier, I'm rolling the dice on getting a gun. I'll just get one off the streets. Afterall, it is Miami and I'm sure he could get one anywhere.

Tibor must be out of town. He'll make an appearance as soon as he can. Maybe him and Thump are on Siesta.

So, you're endorsing living the life he was supposedly getting away from? Getting black market guns and basically telling the justice system to go to hell, when his own father is a police chief?

I'm not a Sean Taylor fan by any means, but to suggest he get a gun, instead of say, getting a hotel suite until his security system is in place, is just lunacy if he was indeed barred from owning one.

Sean wasn't like that, he was a fighter...didn't back down to people. So I don't think this situation was above and beyond abnormal per se. The "robbery" wasn't the first time he was faced with a criminal or an invasive situation.

Miami is dangerous, luckily when I lived there I had my CCW permit to carry a firearm. Although I never had to draw it, it was reassuring. I saw people get stabbed, shot at, robberies and plenty of street fights. People are in awe when I tell them how during Memorial Day Weekend we had a gun check at our club. We actually put peoples guns in our safe. My security wore vests and many carried firearms too. Quite the recipe for danger.

But with concern to Sean, it is Miami... so a robbery one week that didn't lead to much... may not lead to him running to get a gun. I still think it was a retaliation of some sort. It really can't be classified as a home invasion or robbery. The only thing it is right now is a Murder and potential B/E.

A security system doesn't stop bullets.

Yes. If that same justice system would not let him get a gun after his house got robbed I would.

Lunacy is expecting to protect your family with a machete when the bad guys have guns.

Go stay in a suite while your security system gets installed, uh, ok. :roll1::tibor:

Why was he even in Miami? Doesn't he have to practice with the Redskins? I'd be damned if I would fly to Miami to a house that just got robbed a little more than a week earlier, to spend one fucking day.

But I also don't make millions of $$$$ a year.

I think he was injured, not positive though.

I agree. The intruder had no business in the house, not the other way around.
