Interesting article on how difficult it has been to get SEC Member schools to agree to lift the ban on alcohol sales at stadiums on gameday.

Ok sounds good - so what's the problem?

PAUULLLL!!!! Can't let Auburn make all that Budweiser Money!

But don't the fans of the crappy programs with delusions of grandeur (Tennessee cough, cough) have to drink more to get through the games?

At least Tennessee has days of yore to recall, think about teams like Arky, Miss St. Ole Miss, fake USC, those literally are the banner schools for "conference loyalty". Those 3 have to drink just to remember when they could even finish in the top 3 in their own divisions, I think there was still segregation when those 3 were even any good. They should be allowed whiskey sales

The SEC voted to change a rule that previously restricted student-athletes from transferring within the conference on Friday.

Why would they not be allowed to transfer on a Friday?

The current rule requires a transfer to sit out a season if he transferred within the league (SEC bylaw 14.5.5.1. The proposal was brought forward by Texas A&M and Florida. It challenged the current league rule that required Commissioner Greg Sankey to sign off on a student-athlete’s transfer if he transferred from one SEC school to another. The proposal would open the door for intra-conference transfers if the student-athlete’s previous school were to be put on a postseason ban by the NCAA.

It just means more

The important thing is they've addressed what they apparently see as a significant problem: what to do when a program gets caught cheating.

S-E-C! S-E-C!

I imagine a memo from any random SEC AD on any given day to go something like:

  • We have begun NCAA violation protocol 3 today
  • See your handbook for details (if necessary)
  • It's taco Tuesday in the cafateria
  • Friday is Hawaiian shirt day

Hey now, Arkansas has a vacated Sugar Bowl under their belt thanks to NCAA.
Dont let that glorious history go unrecognized.

LSU's Ed Orgeron the betting favorite to be first SEC coach fired in 2018

This isn't the odds board you want to be on top of

At this point during the offseason, we start to get odds on national champion, College Football Playoff participants, conference title winners and Heisman Trophy winners. For those, it's great to be listed at or near the top. But nobody wants to be one the names at the top of a set of odds released Friday.

Offshore bookmaker BetOnline.ag released odds on which SEC coach will be fired first, and it doesn't paint a pretty picture for LSU coach Ed Orgeron. In just his second season as the full-time coach of the Tigers, Orgeron is listed at the top of board followed by Missouri's Barry Odom, Vanderbilt's Derek Mason and second-year Ole Miss coach Matt Luke.

See odds in the entire article: https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...favorite-to-be-first-sec-coach-fired-in-2018/

Some people will actually bet on anything.
