SEC (It just means more.. even its losses are wins)

LOL at Missouri. When they fled the Big 12 to get away from Texas, they thought their relevance on the national stage would skyrocket.

I suspect they, Nebraska, and CU all just thought they were going to get a bigger share of the pie, not have to deal with Texas' politicking over championship location, or Texas filibustering that sweet sweet Conference TV channel paycheck because they cut their own special deal with ESPN.
And on that point, they would be 100% correct.

You know what would have been good for traditional rivalries? Not expanding the conference to include Mizzou and A&M. They should have not expanded if inter-division rivalries were that important.

Bama being a permanent rival with Tennessee makes just a little more sense than OSU and Illinois having a protected annual rivalry game.

The SEC should re-evaluate this permanent rivalry setup because it helps ease the schedule for Bama while making it harder for those other 4 teams to win the conference every year. I don't think any of those 3 "rivalry" games really need to be played every season. You can't keep some inter-division rivalries and have a 14-team league and just 8 league games without some teams almost never playing each other.

Imo Division standings should be based strictly on Division games, could use cross-division in the rare event of a 3way tie. Especially once conferences start going to 16 schools. It's at this point that the Divisions become their own conference... and the evolution from there could be a breakdown and melding of weak Divisions (B1G West).

Woof:
I checked out SECrant this morning, and there's another (albeit benign) thread on the Georgia site about OSU. Is this a common theme throughout the years or is it more prevalent this year? Just figured I'd ask the resident expert.

I didn't even know what SEC Rant was until you mentioned it. There are so, so so many message boards I try to "limit my exposure" to them so I don't come down with a case of Furious Internet Sports fan syndrome.

A general rule of thumb is that any board that has legitimately good recruiting coverage (for any team really) is a good board to checkout. TigerDroppings is a good example of this.
