SEC (It just means more.. even its losses are wins)

Side note: I watched the LSU/Wisconsin game on a side screen and Wisconsin dominated that game. I am a firm believer in if you win, you win, and if you lose, you lose, probably due to 2002 Ohio State, but LSU was absolutely manhandled in the fundamentals.

Les Miles is apparently really not the man there. He had the talent. I bet he is gone after this season.

They are going to hire Tom Hermann

Off topic a bit but regarding Hermann jumping ship;

If UH becomes P5 through the Big 12, you could make the case he's better off staying. It's the easiest path to a consistent playoff push that you could ask for over the next few years.
  • he's in a recruiting hotbed
  • there is no colossus entrenched like Meyer in the B1G or Saban in the SEC
  • the two traditional powers have Stoops on the downside of his career and Strong who we can be kind and just say TBD how good he is going to be (or not)
  • he's not running into the headwind of stupid expectations/booster/alumni issues
  • similar to the time IU was going to hire Thad Matta away from OSU in basketball. As long as the $ is roughly the same and you have the tools to compete, why go to the place where they will expect a NC every year?
Obviously a school like LSU can say "duly noted" to all that and write a check that will remind him of the difference between Houston and the big time schools but it makes you wonder anymore if it's as simple a decision as we fans of big time schools think it is.

I think it would be worth considering whether to stay there instead of jumping into a tougher situation like LSU, A&M, USC, etc.

I think you have to switch to Austin if you can. They're also insulated from the fallout when Texas finally succeeds in destroying another conference (instead of simply crippling it like they have currently).

Remember those rosters in the mid 00s under Mack? Imagine what Herman would do with Vince Young, Jamaal Charles, Selvin Young, etc followed by McCoy, followed by a 5-star dual threat every year. He's dominating with a receiver at QB and AAC talent. We all saw how he dominated in the playoffs with a brand new QB (who was 98% out the door) who stepped in for a freshman, heisman finalist QB.
