SEC (It just means more.. even its losses are wins)

Agreed. Imagine M*ch*gan fans, Nebraska fans, Iowa, Wisconsin, Maryland, Penn State, Northwestern, and Indiana fans (and everyone else) cheering for Ohio State right now. It'd be... weird.
I can imagine those fans and fans of every other team watching the game with a "I hope Team X wins" attitude, but with some of these SEC fans, I can't tell who is truly an Alabama fans and who are fans of other SEC teams, just wearing the "Go Alabama" gear for the month.

It must be a Midwest thing. The Reds were playing the Yankees in the 61 series. They announced the score in the middle of a Buckeye game and 3/4ths of Ohio Stadium gave a cheer because the Yanks won. I was pissed and asked some folks near me why the were cheering for the fucking Yankees - "well, I'm from Cleveland/Akron/Youngstown and the Indians are in the American League," or "I'm from Toledo/Lima/Findley and I root for the Tigers and the Yankees cause they're both in the American League."

I pick up the same vibe on this site - if Michigan is playing Florida you root for Florida. I doubleass guarantee you that fans from Free Shoes and Miami are not rooting for Michigan. Purdue could be playing the Dachau Prison Guards and Indiana fans would root for Dachau.

LA and SF hate each other, but don't expect to find anyone in either city to root for a team from the Midwest. I'm in SF during the '76 World Series and I go into Lefty O'Douls's to watch a game, Reds against the Yankees, and the locals are all suddenly Yankee fans. They'll root for any coastal city team in any sport before they'll root for a team from the Midwest. Same - same Boston and NY.

The South sticks together. There won't be any fans from Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, rooting for the Bucks, but you can bet the rest of the Midwest will be rooting against the Buckeyes. That "Ohio Against the World" T-shirt gets it right.

Just got off a Zoom call with an Auburn grad and there is one fanbase that won't be doing the S_E_C thing tonight at least. Much like us with tsun, they'd root for a bunch of Taliban pedophiles over Bama.

If they only understood how much an ass kicking by the Buckeyes may help their recruiting against Bama. I mean, actually beating Bama would help more but that may be asking too much.

i used to work with a dude that could not grasp that concept.
he was 100% SEC.
even said i was stupid to not think an SEC team winning was great for LSU.

could not ever convince him that Bama always winning was just helping them widen that gap.

dipshit is still pulling for them tonight.
