SF Andre Wesson (Official Thread)

Difficult to see where PT might come from if KBD, Tate and Loving average 30 mpg (slightly less than last year). I suspect that Kam is going to get 6-8 mpg more this year as well. That would leave only 3-5 mpg left at the 2-4 positions for he and Funderburk to split (assuming CJ plays only at the PG position).

Has nothing to do with underestimating and everything to do with a healthy Tate, Bates-Diop, and Loving at the three spot. I didn't think a Lenzelle comparison was a slight! I just think of the four newbies, he's least likely to see a lot of minutes. I'm hoping for nice contributions from the new guys.

EDIT: Wigmon beat me to it. CJ will absolutely get minutes as the only true point on the team, so that should free up some 2-time for Lyle. The minutes just don't seem to be there for Wesson, but injuries invariably happen.

Are you seeing any minutes during B1G play, Bestbuck? I would say he's behind Bell and Thompson at this point, but if there are any attitude problems, he seems like the kind of guy coach will go to because of the energy and approach you saw.

Barring injury or weird necessity, he has the opportunity for sure. I think he can play either wing and the 4. He just has a nose for the ball and can play anyone on defense. You know how Matta loves defenders.

Wesson: A bit of a late-bloomer in high school, the 6-foot-6 wing can shoot and defend four positions. He may need to do some catching up physically, but the good news is the Buckeyes shouldn't have to rely on him with Tate, Loving and Keita Bates-Diop in front of him.

He'll have a role, though.

"Being an energetic guy, bringing energy off the bench," said Wesson, who played 13 minutes against Walsh and had six rebounds.

I think we have to remember who he was playing against last night. He might have been able to start for the Catamounts but I am not so sure how much PT is going to get when we play schools like Virginia, UCLA, and the teams in the Big Ten.

agreed but still he didnt look like a project the way ALOT of fans/pundits described him. good size. went after rebounds. these are things you can see against any type of comp
