On Ohio State:

“They liked me and [Bruce [Thornton] and how we play together. I’m actually from Ohio. They have a top recruiting class already with Bruce going there. I was on a zoom with them for like two hours the other night and learned a lot about them.”

RIVALS’ REACTION: Ohio State working it way into the mix here is definitely an interesting dynamic to follow as Sensabugh moves forward in his recruitment. He developed a really good relationship with Buckeye commit Bruce Thornton this summer playing with Each 1 Teach 1 and has family ties to Ohio. Chris Holtmann’s crew certainly seems to be a major factor here.

Florida will also have a certain pull with him being his current home state school. Mike White and his staff have made him a major priority in the 2021 class and convinced him the Gators have a need for him.

Alabama and Georgia Tech both have reason to feel really good as well after securing the first two official visits. The Yellow Jackets were the first high-major school to recruit him and have been able to sell him on the combination of being a program on the rise while also having the education he’s looking for. Alabama’s style of play is certainly keeping the Crimson Tide in the mix as is his relationship with Nate Oats and assistant coach Antoine Petway.

With its recruiting class sitting at four members, Ohio State will soon host an official visitor for the 2022 class.

Brice Sensabaugh, a three-star forward from Orlando Lake Highland Prep, will take an official visit and check the Buckeyes out during the weekend of September 18, The Dispatch has confirmed. Listed at 6-6, 240 pounds, Sensabaugh is ranked No. 164 nationally according to the 247Sports.com composite database.

Definitely looks like a top 100 talent. Probably a tweener forward and needs to work on quickness to be able to handle good athletes on the perimeter, but has a well rounded offensive repertoire. I think Ron Harper Jr. is a pretty good comparable.

Q: What were some of your general thoughts on your visit to Ohio State?

Sensabaugh: “It was a good time with the football game and with the staff and the team. It was a good time for sure.

“I hung out with Eugene Brown, E.J. Liddell, Malaki Branham and Meechie Johnson the most. It was a great time and it felt super natural. In terms of what they have to offer, they mentioned to me a bunch how they have a bunch of guys graduating and leaving, especially at my position. That could create some opportunity there for me.”

Q: How do you feel your game could translate to the college level?

Sensabaugh: “I feel like I could bring some scoring and contribute early. There will be areas where I will have to improve for my game to translate to the next level. I know I would have to work at it, but I think I could fill a role.”

Q: It sounds like you played well with the E1T1 team and with Bruce Thornton. How was that experience?

Sensabaugh: “Playing with Bruce, it was a great time. We obviously had a lot of success at the Peach Jam. He is a pass first point guard who can get a bucket at any time. He has a super high assist-to-turnover ratio. He doesn’t turn the ball over. I had a great time playing with him.

“Obviously, coming in there were super high stakes playing against the best players in the country. I took it one day at a time. All of the games were super competitive in the Nike EYBL. We had a lot of preparation coming into it. We built chemistry pretty fast over the spring. It was a lot of hard work. It was pretty easy playing with my guys there to do what I did.”

Q: And last thing, what was maybe the highlight of your time at Ohio State?

Sensabaugh: “I think the family environment was probably the main thing. It’s home, too. Those two things hit me. I felt comfortable on the campus.”
