Pickerington Central 62, Olentangy Orange 55: Jae?Sean Tate scored 17 of his 23 points in the second half, and defending state champion Pickerington Central pulled away from Olentangy Orange for its fifth district title.

Orange (15-10), the 18th seed, took command early, stretching the floor and patiently working for open shots. The Tigers (19-7) turned up the heat defensively in the third quarter, limiting the Pioneers to four field-goal attempts with six turnovers.

Tate, a 6-foot-5 junior Ohio State recruit, said, ?We got some more defensive pressure on them in the second half and were able to get out and make some plays.?

The Pioneers stayed within two possessions until the final three minutes, when they missed four straight free throws. Kyran Boyd hit a three-pointer with 2:19 left that sent the Tigers to a regional game on Thursday against Gahanna.

Tate also had nine rebounds, three blocks and two dunks, both during Pickerington Central?s surge.

loss to the bananas from Gahanna:) interregional semi final 53-50

Pickerington Central?s Jae?Sean Tate, who had 31 points and 21 rebounds

Some consolation for Pick Central...Gahanna now has to face Northland, who has won like umpteen games in a row. As the game show guy always says, ' thanks for playing '.

Jae'Sean is going to be a special player at tOSU. He had a tremendous junior season and has only bigger and better things to come next season.

It might be a little premature but his brother Jalen Tate is going to be unreal. He has yet to grow into his body and will be a little bit of a late bloomer but without a doubt showed flashes this year as a freshmen on varsity for Pick Central along side Jae'Sean that he is going to turn into the real deal. I look forward to watching his game take off as he continues to mature physically and it sure will be nice having Big Bro help recruit him to the Bucks!!

Offered today per Rivals...son of Jermaine Tate.

His old man was a real beast, Jae'Sean should be "son of beast".

For those that don't remember Jermaine started out at Ohio State, had some medical issues, and ended up transferring to (and finishing his college career at) Cincinnati.
