SF Jae'Sean Tate (2018 2nd team All B1G, Houston Rockets)

Tate needs to step up his game big time starting tonight it needs to shoot his free throws much better along with the little bunny shots around the bucket.
From the article
Tate and the Buckeyes need to get it right, starting with Wednesday's game against Rutgers.

"Teams have been doubling more in the post," Tate said Tuesday. "That's not an excuse. The shots just weren't falling. I just need to concentrate more when I'm in the position to get the ball in the hole. If they don't fall I still have to find a better way to impact the game."

Tate is averaging 6.8 points per game in Big Ten play, down from 11.5 points per game in the nonconference. He's been held under double-figures in three of the four conference games. Against Indiana on Sunday, Tate had two points and finished 1 for 6 from the floor. That was his lowest scoring output since a loss to Purdue last March.

Nobody expects Tate to be a guy who fills it up as well as the best scorers in the Big Ten. His biggest asset to Ohio State will always be bringing energy, rebounding and effecting the game on the defensive end. But if he's going to be playing nearly 30 minutes per game, the offense needs to be better.
Jae'Sean Tate's season of transition has hit a rough patch, and Ohio State needs it to end

Couldn't come at a worst time....

Ohio State could be without the team’s most important player for Tuesday night’s meeting with No. 6 Michigan State and maybe beyond.

Jae’Sean Tate had an MRI on his left shoulder according to Adam Jardy of the Columbus Dispatch and now his status is in doubt.

Tate appeared to injure the shoulder in the final two minutes of the first half of Saturday’s overtime win over Nebraska after throwing a bounce pass. He was removed from the game, but returned for the second half.

After slapping the floor late in the second half while defending Cornhusker Tai Webster, Tate seemed to reinjure the shoulder but only came out for a matter of seconds before returning for the end of regulation and all of overtime.

and

He did not practice with the team Monday, a source told Eleven Warriors.

Buckeyes head coach Thad Matta addressed Tate's injury Monday night on his radio show, saying, "We're taking a look at it, but hopefully he's going to be fine."

I like Tate's tenacity, but damn--his decision not only resulted in aggravating an injury, but it also allowed the guy he was guarding to blow right by him at a critical juncture in the game. The only way that could've been worse was if Tate got whiplash when watching the Nebraska guy fly by.
