SF/PF Keita Bates-Diop (Phoenix Suns)

Someone needs to tell Keita that a college basketball game is 40 minutes long and you are supposed to play the majority of the 40 minutes. You are not suppose to play when the spirit moves you. If you are the COY do not play like the guy on the other team deserves it. You really only played the second half of the Penn State game and we needed you to play the entire game. Your college career is coming to an end and if you only play some of the game in the first round of the NCAA tournament you can say goodbye to your teammates.

He is what he is, not what you, I, or the next guy wants him to be. Keita has carried a team that has deficiencies and holes everywhere to an amazing and unpredictable season. No need to start picking his game apart now.

So he isn't the demonstrative and "take over a game" guy you want him to be. Just sit back and enjoy the ride and just remember that any game they play in, win or lose, from this point on, is a game none of us thought they would even be playing. This team is not playing very well and teams are exploiting their weaknesses (PSU x's 3)...... so just enjoy it for what it is.

While I agree with what you said above, this is what's so frustrating to many of us: Keita is just so damn good when he gets pissed off, becomes demonstrative and takes over the game. And he's proven himself perfectly capable of doing so.

I too agree, but doing so seems out of character for Diop, and seems like we are asking him to be and do something he is not. We only saw short stretches of it all season. He has come back to earth the 2nd half of the season and appears he is content to attack people by squaring them up and just trying to shoot over them. I also think this is why we have seen a dip the past month in his shooting % and the offense becoming stagnant.

My main point for my comment was to avoid being critical of somebody that has single-handedly revived my (and everyone elses) interest in this program and led them to an unthinkable season to this point.
