SG Austin Grandstaff (transfer to Oklahoma, transfer to DePaul, transfer to Texas A&M-Commerce)

I like the fit with Grandstaff on the OSU roster. He is a great shooter but also has the size to play the 3. Brings some versatility in addition to shooting ability. In other words he isn't redundant with already having Kam Williams, they can play together and both bring deep range.

I didn't see much in the film posted earlier, but the more recent reviews of Austin seem to be overwhelmingly positive.

Grandstaff is an excellent talent — Ohio State just got a very good player

Espn 60 SG Austin Grandstaff committed to Ohio State on his visit. Buckeyes land 1 of the best shooters in 2015. Scout's Take coming soon!

Austin Grandstaff is one of the most dangerous and confident shooters in the class of 2015. Will bring perimeter scoring to Ohio State.

The Buckeyes needed a shooter in this class (2015) and that's exactly what they got in Austin Grandstaff. Saw back in March hit J's all day!

I agree. It will sound like sour grapes but I see a more athletic Kennard!

Austin appears to have shorter arms, a bit smaller frame and is perhaps a tad shorter, but I agree that he is quicker/more athletic and I like his stroke better. Kennard will have a bigger adjustment to make between how he is used in high school and the role he will have in college, and I think Luke will struggle with that adjustment his first season a la Jon Diebler.

WOW, great get! Funny how everyone (including myself) thought there was no chance and then BOOM, we land a huge talent. Agreed that Grandstaff makes me completely fine with missing Kennard, similar skill set and talent. Not a biased/sour grapes view either, most scouts seem to agree. We absolutely needed a player like Grandstaff in the '15 class. If we can add Giddens or Doral Moore, this could be one of the better classes I can remember.

Total side note, but this likely means no offer for Ahrens. I really like Ahrens but I think we hit gold here.
