Jon Diebler can torch a team from deep, whether that team is Penn State (10 straight 3-pointers) in the Big Ten or Maccabi Tel Aviv B.C. in the European League.

Diebler got back in the kitchen Wednesday night at Abdi Ipekci Arena.

Led by Diebler's 21 points on six for seven 3-point shooting, Turkish Basketball Super League superpower Galatasaray S.K. "humiliated" its Israeli Premier League opponent, 102-63.

The performance left former Charleston and Los Angeles Lakers guard Andrew Goudelock stunned. “We looked bad at both ends of the floor. It was embarrassing,” Tel Aviv's leading scorer told The Jerusalem Post.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The NCAA Men’s Basketball Rules Committee has proposed a rule to extend the college three-point arc to the same distance as international line.

Right now the college line sits at 20 feet, 9 inches at the top of the arc. The international line — 22 feet, 1¾ inches — is closer than the NBA’s 23 feet, 9 inch distance. The NCAA hasn’t extended its three-point line since prior to the 2008-09 season when it was the same distance as the current high school line, but the recent rise in usage of the shot has made it a topic of conversation.

Ohio State shot 774 threes last season, which was 40% of its field goal attempts. That number is five percent higher the NCAA average of 35.2.

Moving the three-point line back shouldn’t force a massive overhaul in how teams play offensively. Former Ohio State guard Jon Diebler -- in town as his brother, Jake, met the media for the first time after becoming an assistant coach for the Buckeyes -- made a career from behind the three-point line. He made a Big Ten record 374 threes at a 41.6% success rate in 144 games. He was a sophomore for the Buckeyes during the last time the NCAA extended the three-point line.

Since graduating he’s played in multiple leagues in Europe and has plenty of experience shooting from that distance. He doesn’t feel players will see much of a difference, especially since most players don’t shoot directly on the line anyway.

“The only thing is that now people will shoot even farther back because they don’t shoot right up against the line,” Diebler told cleveland.com. “Once you practice and get repetition, I don’t think it will make a huge difference. You might see percentages drop the first couple of years, but most college programs have NBA lines on their court anyway. Every player’s goal is to go to the NBA so you’re constantly, even though you’re in college, working on those shots as well.”
