Kam always showed great enthusiasm for the program, and if he had been discouraged enough to leave, it would have been a new low for the team's descent. As it is, it gives us hope that a turnaround has been reached. Not only that, but Kam is a fine player whose ability isn't sufficiently recognized. Do you remember the game, the Iowa game I think it was, when he put the team on his back in the second half and almost single-handedly pulled the fat from the fire? That was the game climaxed by Keita's out-of-nowhere block in the last second. Kam made me think of Dave Lighty and Evan Turner in that game. His return is the only truly positive news we've had in a while.

I knew that Kam was a hell of a shooter coming out of HIGH SCHOOL but I guess I never realized he was this good:
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Kam Williams listed off the names nonchalantly -- Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, Zach LaVine -- as if the Ohio State guard's name belonged right up there with young, exciting potential NBA superstars.

Williams, still confident as ever, thought back to a time when he bested all of them as the leading scorer on the 2012 circuit of Nike's Elite Youth Basketball League. That's true, there was a time when Williams was the premier scorer (22 points per game) of an AAU season that included those guys, and others like Julius Randle, Aaron Gordon and Jahlil Okafor.

It's actually kind of impressive when you think about it. It's also in no way an indicator of future stardom, clearly. Williams is not on the level of those players, and any implication that he is would be pure delusion.

Would like a shot AT PLAYING some PG this upcoming season. I think he would be as good as Tate bringing the ball up the court.

Kam absolutely should have developed into a reliable combo-guard by now; I'm a little disappointed that he hasn't. It's not that hard, it just takes dribbling practice every day, sometimes for hours, to develop that confidence that you aren't going to get swiped and that you can get things started on offense. If he wants the shot at back-up PG, well, step right up!

I seem to remember Kam not having that bad of a handle coming out of high school, which is probably why I've always been puzzled that he seems so terrified when he has to put the ball on the floor for more than a moment. I know from experience that coaching can cause this in organised ball, as ive watched many players over the years go D1 and become hesitant handlers because for trying to please the coach and not make mistakes or turn the ball over. which can hurt a kids confidence and overall game.

I know that Kam is very athletic and probably wants the season to start right away with a fresh start under a new coaching regime but 38-40 minutes is a little too much even for him.

“I feel like me and C.J. are already well-conditioned and it’s only going to get better from here on out,” he said. “Even with just two guards, I feel like me and him can do damage if we have to play 40 minutes, 38 minutes.”

OHIO STATE'S KAM WILLIAMS IS OUT TO PROVE HE IS MORE THAN JUST A JUMP SHOOTER

For the majority of his career, Ohio State redshirt senior guard Kam Williams has been labeled as a catch-and-shoot threat from behind the three-point arc.

Williams is tired of that label.

Speaking at Big Ten Media Day in New York City on Thursday, Williams said he is out to prove that he can be more than just a spot-up shooter for the Buckeyes in 2017-18.

"I'm not just a shooter. I don't like being labeled as just that because I came here to do so much more," Williams said. "I'm just trying to show my entire offensive repertoire. Not getting outside of myself, but (working on) my on-ball defending, becoming a better rebounder, a better passer and driver and getting my teammates involved."
