AAU generally ends for a kid after their junior year of high school. The only kids that usually play after their senior year has ended are those that aren't locked in to a school to play for yet.

My guess is that the Ohio State staff signed off that he was good to finish his AAU season. A lot of college coaches don't do this. There's simply nothing to gain by playing a few meaningless games. I've dealt with this situation and the prudent thing to do is to shut it down.

Here's to Musa having a fruitful career at Ohio State. The NBA is a pipe dream for most and shouldn't even be in the conversation.

Did you take into account that he recently reclassified as 2017 grad? I'm sure he did not want to leave his teammates hanging just because he moved up his timeline to graduate a year earlier.

Jallow, who committed to Ohio State and reclassified a year up into the 2017 class last month, looked the part of an immediate contributor this week in Milwaukee. While his jumper remains a work in progress, what isn’t is just how hard he plays, his comprehension of how to play the game and, most of all, his versatility on the defensive end.

In case anyone wants a reason to be optimistic about our first team under Holtmann, here's some very interesting news coming out about Jallow. I can't imagine a kid this young being a great contributor, but if he knows his role and has this much upside, who knows?

“We had a recruit in and we were sitting after practice and I said to the dad, ‘See that kid right there?’ ” Holtmann said. “He said, ‘Yeah, he’s one of your upperclassmen, right?’ I said, ‘No, he’s 17.’ He goes, ‘Seventeen? That kid?’ When you look at him, he’s got a physical maturity level. He takes care of his body.

“He’s always remained a really disciplined eater. We could all take lessons from him – at least I could. No sugar. Limited carbs. Vegetables, protein, we should all be on the Musa Jallow diet.”

At Big Ten media day held Oct. 19 at Madison Square Garden in New York, senior Jae’Sean Tate also praised the freshman.

“He’s shooting the ball very well right now,” Tate said. “He’s the best rebounder we have at this point. He crashes the glass like nobody I’ve ever seen and he always gets his hands on it. Very athletic. He’s just one of those people that the ball just kind of lands in his area. And that’s coming from me, and I’m a pretty good rebounder, but he’s got the number. He’s the best rebounder we’ve got right now.”

5. Freshman Musa Jallow feels to me like Tate light. He's 17 years old. So he'll have some major adjustments to make, especially when the competition gets better. But in his short time on campus, he's made an impression as someone who's going to keep the team's energy level up.

"That's kind of who he is," Holtmann said. "He's got good life to him."

6. Jallow can be a surprise player despite his youth. He's more physically ready than any freshman who's walked through the door over the last five or so years. He looks like a football player. His game is still very much developmental, but he should be able to rebound and defend from the start. The Buckeyes will take that.

I finally watched the game, and I will say that Jallow, Young and Kaleb showed flashes...Jallow is definitely an energy guy, Young can do a lot but seems not to be in optimal shape at this point which will hopefully get batter as the season goes on as he runs out of gas pretty quick right now, and at some points during the game at a glance I swear watching Kaleb Wesson, seemed like I was looking at a developed Terrance Dials out there.
